But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their wickedness or stop burning incense to other gods.

But the people didn’t listen. They didn’t pay any attention. They didn’t turn from their sinful ways. They didn’t stop burning incense to other gods.

But they did not listen or incline their ear, to turn from their evil and make no offerings to other gods.

But my people would not listen or turn back from their wicked ways. They kept on burning incense to these gods.

因為我知道你是頑固的，你的頸項是鐵的，你的額是銅的，

他們卻沒有聽從，也不留心，反倒按著他們的計謀，隨從自己頑梗的惡心行事，向後不向前。

他們卻戲弄神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華的忿怒臨到他的子民身上，直到無法挽救。

我的子民卻不聽我的話，以色列不肯服從我。因此，我就任憑他們心裡剛硬，隨著自己的計謀行事。只要我的子民聽從我，以色列肯遵行我的道，

但他們不肯聽從，反而硬著頸項，充耳不聞（“反而硬著頸項，充耳不聞”直譯是“轉着固執的肩膊，使自己的耳朵發沉不聽”）。他們使自己的心剛硬如金鋼石，不肯聽從律法和萬軍之耶和華藉著他的靈、透過從前的先知所說的話。因此，萬軍之耶和華非常忿怒。

我曾給她時間，讓她悔改，她卻不肯為她的淫行悔改。看哪，我要把她拋在大患難的床上；那些跟她行淫亂的人，如果不為她的行為悔改，我也要把他們拋在大患難中。

‘耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大列王的宮殿，都要像陀斐特一樣成為不潔；人曾在這一切房屋宮殿的屋頂上，向天上的萬象燒香，向別神澆奠祭。’”

他們回到他們祖先所犯的罪孽中。他們的祖先不肯聽從我的話，卻隨從事奉別的神。以色列家和猶大家都違犯了我和他們列祖所立的約。”

但願你一向都留心聽從我的命令，這樣你的平安就像河水滔滔，你的公義就如海浪滾滾；

他們卻不聽從，毫不留心，各人隨從自己頑梗的惡心行事。所以，我使這約中一切咒詛的話臨到他們身上。我曾吩咐他們遵行這約，他們卻不遵行。’”
