皆因居民作惡、干犯我怒、焚香於他神而服事之、即彼與爾及爾列祖所未識之神、

because of the evil they have done. They aroused my anger by burning incense to and worshiping other gods that neither they nor you nor your ancestors ever knew.

That’s because of the evil things their people did. They made me very angry. They burned incense to other gods. And they worshiped them. They and you and your people of long ago never knew those gods.

because of the evil that they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to make offerings and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

They provoked my anger with all their wickedness. They burned incense and worshiped other gods— gods that neither they nor you nor any of your ancestors had ever even known.

從他上帝而崇奉之、然他上帝彼所未識、耶和華亦未嘗姑聽其服事、

彼祭鬼神、不崇上帝、彼崇他上帝素所未識、初從鄰國而來、即其祖宗亦未嘗敬畏。

如爾同母之兄弟、或爾子女、或眷愛之妻、或契合之友、私誘爾曰、宜服事他上帝、然此上帝爾與爾祖所未識者、

爾雖降災、必無不義、爾所行惟善、我所行惟惡、

何為於所居埃及之地、造作偶像、焚香奉事他上帝、干我震怒、為我棄絶、為列邦人咒詛、凌侮、皆由自取。

主謂我曰、人子、盍觀猶大人在此所為、深堪痛疾、是非細故、遍行強暴、干我震怒、以枝自塞其鼻、故我怒憤烈、不加矜憫、滅之務盡、彼雖大聲籲呼於上、我必不應。

我儕犯罪作惡、違爾律例、棄爾禮儀、

我耶和華爾之上帝、導爾於途、爾乃棄我、自罹斯害。爾今或往埃及、飲西曷之水、或往亞述、飲百辣之水、果何為哉。萬有之主耶和華曰、爾犯罪違道、必遭刑譴、俾爾知、遐棄我躬、不畏我威者、必備嘗艱苦。

人必曰、斯民背其上帝耶和華之約、崇拜服事他上帝、故有此罰。

猶大王耶路撒冷民、宜聽耶和華之言、萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華云、我必降災於斯土、聽之者必震其耳。彼違逆予、凟我聖所、在此焚香、以敬他上帝、他上帝之聖名、自厥祖以迄子孫、更逮猶大國王、未嘗聞也、亦殺無辜、流血遍染此所。

偽先知同謀、若獅狂吼、斷傷人、吞噬人、得其珍寶、使邑中嫠婦不可勝數、祭司干犯律例、玩瀆聖物、聖與不聖、潔與不潔、不為剖別、我之安息日、不復恪守、棄我於民中、邑中之牧伯若狼、行其殘害、肆其吞噬、以獲不義之利。先知所見者、虛偽之異象、所占者無憑之卜筮、自謂傳耶和華之命、然我未嘗示之、若作垣墉、以不堅緻之泥塗之、斯土之民、虐遇人、強暴人、挾制貧乏、侮慢羈旅、我稽察之、欲得一人、可補藩籬、可塞垣隙、立於我前、代民祈求、免我殲滅、亦不可得。故震怒憤烈、降災於眾、視其所為而報之、我耶和華已言之矣。

先知祭司、蹈於罪愆、殺義人於邑中、故遭此事兮。

耶和華曰、有民若此、我豈不降罰、以雪我憤、

我萬有之主耶和華、昔培植爾、今降爾以災、蓋以色列族猶大家、焚香崇事巴力、干我震怒。

耶路撒冷人背我耶和華、故敵圍之、若守園之丁、環囿而居。彼所行艱苦、所為暴戾、喪其心術、自召禍患。

耶和華又曰、彼作此、干我震怒、豈非自貽厥羞乎。

主曰、以色列族、猶大家、罪戾甚重、殺人遍地、舉邑違逆、自謂耶和華不加鑒察、耶和華已遐棄斯土、

如有詰先知者、謂我之上帝耶和華降災於我曷故。先知必曰、爾棄耶和華、在爾故土、崇事非爾之上帝、故必在非爾之地、從事異邦人。

耶路撒冷民、愆尤叢集、主遐棄之兮、昔雖尊崇、今則裸體、為人藐視、彼亦欷歔而退兮。

遍地蕭條、恍若沙漠、人蹤罕至、焉得哲人、蒙予啟示、而言其故。耶和華又曰、彼棄我法、不遵我命。乃縱私欲崇事巴力、效祖之尤。

爾則告之曰、耶和華云、因爾列祖、遐棄我躬、不守我法、乃從他上帝、俯伏崇拜。爾濟祖惡尤甚、各縱私欲、不遵我命、

剛愎厥心、同於鐵石、不聽法度、我耶和華、以我神感古先知、遣之告眾、惟彼不聽、故我萬有之主耶和華、震怒特甚。萬有之主耶和華曰、昔我諭眾、眾不聽從、今眾籲我、我亦不聽、

曰、我上帝歟、予覺赧然、不敢仰視、蓋我眾罪惡滔天、幾至滅頂。自列祖之時、迄於今日、世濟其惡、因此我與我王、祭司、敗於列國之王、為其殺戮、劫掠攘奪、蒙恥忍辱、今日之事為證。今我上帝耶和華暫施其恩、拯我遺民、使恆居聖所、錫我寵光、不為人奴、保我生命、昔我為人服役、蒙上帝不棄、使巴西王矜憫我、賜復振興、能建上帝殿、見其傾圯、重加修葺、築垣於猶大及耶路撒冷。我上帝歟、方命之罪、我不敢諉、昔爾命臣諸先知告我云、爾所欲據之地甚不潔、因斯民作不善、四境皆然、以此污衊。
