because of the evil they have done. They aroused my anger by burning incense to and worshiping other gods that neither they nor you nor your ancestors ever knew.

That’s because of the evil things their people did. They made me very angry. They burned incense to other gods. And they worshiped them. They and you and your people of long ago never knew those gods.

because of the evil that they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to make offerings and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

They provoked my anger with all their wickedness. They burned incense and worshiped other gods— gods that neither they nor you nor any of your ancestors had ever even known.

如爾同母兄弟、或爾子女、或懷中之妻、或如命之友、私誘爾曰、我其往事他神、爾與爾祖所未識者、

所加於我、爾無不義、爾所行惟誠、我所行惟惡、

緣以爾手所為、激我震怒、在所往居之埃及地、焚香於他神、致爾見絕、在天下萬國中、成為可詛可辱、

彼諭我曰、人子歟、爾見此乎、猶大家在此行可惡之事、豈細故哉、致使斯土充斥強暴、復激我怒、置樹枝於其鼻、故我必以怒待之、我目不顧惜之、不加矜憫、彼雖大聲呼於我耳、猶不聽之、

我儕犯罪乖戾、行惡悖逆、離爾訓詞律例、

爾上帝耶和華導爾於途、而爾離之、豈非自召斯禍乎、爾今何為在於埃及之道、以飲西曷之水、何為在於亞述之道、以飲大河之水乎、爾之罪惡必自懲、爾之悖逆必自責、可知離棄爾上帝耶和華、不存寅畏之心、乃惡而且苦之事、萬軍之主耶和華言之矣、

則將應之曰、因彼背其上帝耶和華之約、崇拜服事他神也、○

曰、猶大王及耶路撒冷居民歟、宜聽耶和華言、萬軍之耶和華、以色列之上帝云、我將降災於斯土、凡聞之者、其耳必震、緣彼與其列祖、及猶大列王棄我、視斯土為異域、焚香於其未識之神、且流無辜之血、徧於斯土、

其中之先知結黨、若獅狂吼、攫而裂物、吞噬人靈、取其珍寶、以致邑中嫠婦眾多、其祭司干我法律、污我聖物、不辨聖與不聖、不使人別潔與不潔、掩目不顧我之安息、致我見瀆於民中、其中之牧伯、若狼攫而裂物、惟欲流血、殄滅人靈、以獲不義之利、其先知以不堅之泥、為人塗垣、所見虛偽、所占妄誕、彼謂主耶和華言之、然耶和華未言也、斯土之民、用強暴、行攘奪、騷擾貧乏、妄虐羇旅、我於其中、欲覓一人、以築垣墉、為國立於缺處、在於我前、免我殲滅、而不可得、故我傾怒於眾、以我發忿之火滅之、依其所為、報於其首、主耶和華言之矣、

緣其先知干罪、祭司蹈愆兮、乃流義人之血於其中兮、

耶和華曰、我豈不緣此而加譴責、豈不復仇於若是之國哉、

萬軍之耶和華昔培植爾、今命災禍擊爾、因以色列家與猶大家行惡、為巴力焚香、以激我怒也、○

彼圍攻耶路撒冷、若人之守田、以其逆我也、耶和華言之矣、爾之行徑作為、使遭斯事、此乃爾之惡報、其苦特甚、害及爾心、○

耶和華曰、彼激我怒乎、豈非自激、致面有慚色哉、

彼曰、以色列及猶大家、罪戾甚重、流血遍地、舉邑枉法、自謂耶和華遺棄斯土、耶和華不見之矣、

爾曹若云、我上帝耶和華何為以此加我、爾當語之曰、爾曹棄我、奉事他神於爾境、如是、亦必奉事外人於非爾之地、○

耶路撒冷大干罪戾、故為不潔兮、素尊之者見其裸體、咸蔑視之兮、彼則欷歔而退兮、

孰為智者、克明斯事、耶和華與誰言、使之宣告、斯土何為被燬遭焚、有若曠野、無人經之、耶和華曰、緣彼棄我所示之律、不聽我言、不行我道、惟徇己心之剛愎、從諸巴力、即其祖所教者、

爾則告之曰、耶和華云、爾祖棄我、而從他神、服事崇拜、且背我、不守我法律、爾曹行惡甚於爾祖、各徇惡心之剛愎而行、不聽從我、

鐵石其心、不聽法律、與萬軍之耶和華以其神藉古先知所傳之言、緣此、萬軍之耶和華大發其怒、萬軍之耶和華曰、我呼之、而彼不聽、彼呼我、我亦不聽、

曰、我上帝歟、予抱愧赧顏、不敢向我上帝仰面、蓋我儕愆尤滅頂、罪戾滔天、自我列祖迄今、世濟其惡、因我罪戾、我與我王祭司、付於列國王手、為其殺戮、虜掠攘奪、蒙恥含羞、有如今日、今我上帝耶和華暫施其恩、拯我遺民、使居聖所、如釘之牢、光照我目、俾於服役、少復振興、我為奴僕、然於服役、上帝不棄、在波斯王前、施恩於我、使復振興、能建我上帝室、修其荒墟、於猶大及耶路撒冷、得有垣墉、我上帝歟、事既如此、夫復何言、我儕違棄爾誡、即爾藉爾僕諸先知所命曰、爾所往據之地、乃為不潔、緣斯土諸族之污、與可憎之事、充乎四境、
