“‘ This will be the sign to you that I will punish you in this place,’ declares the Lord,‘ so that you will know that my threats of harm against you will surely stand.’

主曰、我在伊及伊及原文作斯處將罰爾、有兆可證、使爾知我言降災於爾、必有效驗、

“‘ I will give you a sign that I will punish you in this place,’ announces the Lord.‘ Then you can be sure that my warnings of harm against you will come true.’

This shall be the sign to you, declares the Lord, that I will punish you in this place, in order that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for harm:

“‘ And this is the proof I give you,’ says the Lord,‘ that all I have threatened will happen to you and that I will punish you here.’

This will be a sign to you’— this is the LORD’s declaration—‘ that I will punish you in this place, so you may know that my words of disaster concerning you will certainly come to pass.

And this will be the sign to you,’ declares the Lord,‘ that I am going to punish you in this place, so that you may know that My words will assuredly stand against you for harm.’

And this shall be a sign to you,’ says the Lord,‘ that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that My words will surely stand against you for adversity.’

And this shall be the sign unto you, saith Jehovah, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

This will be a sign to you’— this is the Lord’s declaration—‘ that I am about to punish you in this place, so you may know that My words of disaster concerning you will certainly come to pass.

And this[ shall be] a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

Moreover the LORD says,‘ I will make something happen to prove that I will punish you in this place. I will do it so that you will know that my threats to bring disaster on you will prove true.

“‘ This will be the sign to you,’ says Yahweh,‘ that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

“ So when you see standing in the holy place‘ the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel— let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

This is what the Lord says:‘ I am going to deliver Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hands of his enemies who want to kill him, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the enemy who wanted to kill him.’”

“ When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near.Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city.

“ When you see‘ the abomination that causes desolation’ standing where it does not belong— let the reader understand— then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out.Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.

“ Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

He told them this parable:“ Look at the fig tree and all the trees.When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.“ Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

“‘ And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you— they will both die on the same day.
