但所有住在埃及地的犹大人哪，你们要听耶和华的话！耶和华说：‘看哪！我指着我伟大的名起誓：在埃及全地每一个犹大人的口中，再不会呼唤我的名，说：我指着永活的主耶和华起誓。

所以你們住在埃及地的一切猶大人當聽耶和華的話。耶和華說：我指着我的大名起誓，在埃及全地，我的名不再被猶大一個人的口稱呼說：『我指着主－永生的耶和華起誓。』

所有住埃及地的猶大人哪，當聽耶和華的話。耶和華說：看哪，我指着我至大的名起誓，在埃及全地，我的名必不再被猶大任何人的口呼喊：『我指着主－永生的耶和華起誓。』

所有住埃及地的猶大人哪，當聽耶和華的話。耶和華說：看哪，我指着我至大的名起誓，在埃及全地，我的名必不再被猶大任何人的口呼喊：『我指着主－永生的耶和華起誓。』

住在埃及的猶大人啊，你們都要聽耶和華的話。耶和華說，『看啊，我以自己偉大的名起誓，再沒有一個住在埃及的猶大人會憑永活的主耶和華起誓。

但所有住在埃及地的猶大人哪，你們要聽耶和華的話！耶和華說：‘看哪！我指著我偉大的名起誓：在埃及全地每一個猶大人的口中，再不會呼喚我的名，說：我指著永活的主耶和華起誓。

故此住埃及地所有的猶大人哪，你們要聽永恆主的話哦：永恆主說，看吧，我指着我的大名來起誓：在埃及全地我的名必不再被猶大族任何人的口稱呼說：「我指着永活的主永恆主來起誓。」

居埃及地之猶大人、其聽耶和華言、耶和華曰、我已指我大名而誓、凡居埃及之猶大人、後必無一人、口道我名曰、我指維生之主耶和華而誓、

今爾曹宜聽我耶和華言、我指己而誓、必不使居埃及之猶大人崇事我、稱我大名、

今爾曹居伊及之眾猶大人、宜聽主言、主曰、我指己之大名而誓、遍伊及所有之猶大人、不使其一人復稱我名曰、我指主耶和華永生而誓云、

But hear the word of the Lord, all you Jews living in Egypt:‘ I swear by my great name,’ says the Lord,‘ that no one from Judah living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear,“ As surely as the Sovereign Lord lives.”

But listen to the Lord’ s message. Listen, all you Jews living in Egypt.‘ I make a promise by my own great name,’ says the Lord.‘ Here is what I promise.“ No one from Judah who lives anywhere in Egypt will ever again pray in my name. None of them will ever make this promise. They will never say,‘ You can be sure that the Lord and King is alive.’ ”

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the Lord, that my name shall no more be invoked by the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,‘ As the Lord God lives.’

“ Therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you Judeans who live in the land of Egypt:‘ I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name will never again be invoked by anyone of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,“ As the Lord GOD lives.”

In return, hear the word of the Lord, all Judah who are living in the land of Egypt:‘ Behold, I have sworn by My great name,’ says the Lord,‘ that My name shall never be invoked again by the mouth of anyone of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,“ As the Lord God lives.”

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt:‘ Behold, I have sworn by My great name,’ says the Lord,‘ that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,“ The Lord GOD lives.”

Therefore hear ye the word of Jehovah, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith Jehovah, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Lord Jehovah liveth.

“ Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, all you Judeans who live in the land of Egypt:‘ I have sworn by My great name, says Yahweh, that My name will never again be invoked by anyone of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,“ As the Lord God lives.”

Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.

But listen to what the LORD has to say, all you people of Judah who are living in the land of Egypt. The LORD says,‘ I hereby swear by my own great name that none of the people of Judah who are living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name in their oaths! Never again will any of them use it in an oath saying,“ As surely as the Lord GOD lives….”

“ Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt:‘ Behold, I have sworn by my great name,’ says Yahweh,‘ that my name will no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying,“ As the Lord Yahweh lives.”

But God says to the wicked:“ Why bother reciting my decrees and pretending to obey my covenant?

“ This is what the Lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that

“ As for you, O people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go right ahead and worship your idols, but sooner or later you will obey me and will stop bringing shame on my holy name by worshiping idols.

For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying:

The Sovereign Lord has sworn by his own name, and this is what he, the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, says:“ I despise the arrogance of Israel, and I hate their fortresses. I will give this city and everything in it to their enemies.”

Then when you swear by my name, saying,‘ As surely as the Lord lives,’ you could do so with truth, justice, and righteousness. Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world, and all people would come and praise my name.”

But even when they are under oath, saying,‘ As surely as the Lord lives,’ they are still telling lies!”

“ Listen to me, O family of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and born into the family of Judah. Listen, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and call on the God of Israel. You don’t keep your promises,even though you call yourself the holy city and talk about depending on the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

The Lord has sworn to Jerusalem by his own strength:“ I will never again hand you over to your enemies. Never again will foreign warriors come and take away your grain and new wine.

Now I raise my hand to heaven and declare,“ As surely as I live,when I sharpen my flashing sword and begin to carry out justice, I will take revenge on my enemies and repay those who reject me.I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword will devour flesh— the blood of the slaughtered and the captives, and the heads of the enemy leaders.”’

“ As surely as I live,” says the King, whose name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies,“ one is coming against Egypt who is as tall as Mount Tabor, or as Mount Carmel by the sea!

No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.

Now the Lord has sworn this oath by his own name, the Pride of Israel:“ I will never forget the wicked things you have done!

But as surely as I live, and as surely as the earth is filled with the Lord’s glory,not one of these people will ever enter that land. They have all seen my glorious presence and the miraculous signs I performed both in Egypt and in the wilderness, but again and again they have tested me by refusing to listen to my voice.They will never even see the land I swore to give their ancestors. None of those who have treated me with contempt will ever see it.

“ I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear.For they go up to their roofs and bow down to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the Lord, but then they worship Molech, too.

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

Do you really think you can steal, murder, commit adultery, lie, and burn incense to Baal and all those other new gods of yours,

Now tell them this:‘ As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say.

But if you refuse to pay attention to this warning, I swear by my own name, says the Lord, that this palace will become a pile of rubble.’”

And when a relative who is responsible to dispose of the dead goes into the house to carry out the bodies, he will ask the last survivor,“ Is anyone else with you?” When the person begins to swear,“ No, by...,” he will interrupt and say,“ Stop! Don’t even mention the name of the Lord.”)
