我必使巴忒罗荒凉，也必在琐安点起火来，又向挪施行审判。

我在答比匿折断埃及众轭的时候，白昼就必变为黑暗；埃及所夸耀的势力必在其中止息；这城必有密云遮盖，城中的居民必被掳去。

我必使埃及被掳的人归回，使他们归回自己根源之地巴忒罗，在那里他们必成为低微的国。

我必在埃及点起火来；训必有大痛苦；挪必被攻破；挪弗必终日受难。

挪弗人和答比匿人也剃光了你的头顶。

相反地，加利亚的儿子约哈难和众将领却率领犹大所有余剩的人，就是那些从被赶逐到各国回来住在犹大地的，包括男人、女人、孩童和王的众公主，以及护卫长尼布撒拉旦留给沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利管理的众人，还有耶利米先知和尼利亚的儿子巴录，把他们都带进埃及地，去到答比匿，没有听从耶和华的话。在答比匿耶和华的话临到耶利米，说：

这样，犹大余剩的人哪，你们现在要听耶和华的话！万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你们若决意去埃及，到那里寄居，你们惧怕的刀剑必在埃及地追上你们；你们恐惧的饥荒必在埃及紧随着你们；你们必死在那里。所有决意去埃及，在那里寄居的人，必因刀剑、饥荒和瘟疫而死；他们没有一人能幸存，或避过我降在他们身上的灾祸。’“因为万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘我从前怎样把我的怒气和烈怒倾倒在耶路撒冷的居民身上，现在你们进入埃及的时候，我也必照样把我的烈怒倾倒在你们身上。你们就必成为令人惊骇、被人咒骂、咒诅和羞辱的对象。你们必不能再看见这地方。

所以我必与你和你的河为敌；我必使埃及地，从密夺到色弗尼，直到古实边界，都全然荒凉废弃。

住在埃及的人民哪！要为自己预备被掳时所需的器物；因为挪弗必成为荒场，必被烧毁，无人居住。
