Rather, Baruch son of Neriah is inciting you against us to hand us over to the Chaldeans to put us to death or to deport us to Babylon!”

以下是犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，耶利米先知对尼利亚的儿子巴录所说的话（巴录从耶利米口中把这些话写在书卷上）：“巴录啊！耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你曾说：我有祸了！因为耶和华在我的痛苦上加添忧愁。我因唉哼而困乏，得不着安宁。’”

更吩咐王子耶拉篾、亚次列的儿子西莱雅和亚伯叠的儿子示利米雅，去捉拿文士巴录和耶利米先知；但耶和华把他们隐藏起来。

于是众领袖对王说：“这人应该处死，因为他向这城里剩下的军兵和众民说了这样的话，使他们的手都软弱无力。这人不是为这人民求平安，却是惹来灾祸的。”

于是耶利米把尼利亚的儿子巴录叫了来，巴录就从耶利米口中，把耶和华向耶利米所说的一切话，都写在书卷上。

巴录就在耶和华的殿里，向众民宣读书上耶利米的话。那时他是在沙番的儿子书记基玛利雅的房间里，这房间是在上院，靠近耶和华殿里新门的入口。

人若因我的缘故辱骂你们，迫害你们，并且捏造各样坏话毁谤你们，你们就有福了。你们应该欢喜快乐，因为你们在天上的赏赐是大的；在你们以前的先知，他们也曾这样迫害。

他们以敌对的态度来回报我的爱；至于我，我只有祷告。

世人为人子的缘故憎恨你们、排斥你们、辱骂你们，弃绝你们的名好像弃绝恶物，你们就有福了。那时你们应该欢喜跳跃，因为你们在天上的赏赐是大的，他们的祖先对待先知也是这样。

人都说你们好的时候，你们就有祸了，因为你们的祖先对待假先知也是这样。
