I shall kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive. And he shall clean the land of Egypt as a shepherd cleans his cloak of vermin, and he shall go away from there in peace.

萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝說：『看吧，我必察罰挪的亞捫神跟法老和埃及、以及埃及的神和她的王、跟法老和倚靠法老的人。

他以咒罵為長衣穿上；願這咒罵如水進他內臟，像油入他骨頭。願這咒罵當衣服讓他披上，做腰帶讓他不斷地束上。

你舉目向四方觀看吧；他們都集合到你這裏來了。永恆主發神諭說：『我指着永活的我來起誓，你必將他們都穿戴上如妝飾品，你必以他們為華帶來束腰、像新婦一樣。

你披上亮光如衣裳；搭開諸天如幔子；

你因倚靠你自己所築造的、和自己的營寨，你也必被攻取；基抹必出降而流亡，他的祭司和首領必一概流亡。

我必使她的祭司披上拯救；她堅貞之民必大聲歡呼。

彼勒屈身仆倒，尼波彎腰跌落；巴比倫人的偶像馱在獸和牲口上，他們抬的偶像如今成了重載、馱在疲乏的牲口上。

在這一切之上、還要穿上愛，就是「完善」之繩索。

『你要以莊嚴高尚為妝飾，以尊榮大方為服裝。

而穿上新人，那依上帝之聖質形像而被創造的新人，創造於真實中之正義和虔聖的。

奮發，奮發哦！錫安哪，穿上你的力量哦！聖城耶路撒冷啊，穿上你華美的衣服哦！因為今後沒受割禮的和不潔淨的不得再進你中間了。

要穿戴上帝的軍裝，使你們能站穩、來抵擋魔鬼的詭計。

我因永恆主而大大高興，我的心以我的上帝為快樂；因為他將拯救之衣服給我穿上，將義氣之外袍給我披上，如同新郎以華帽豫備自己，又如新婦佩戴着金器為妝飾。

我必使他的仇敵披上羞辱；但他的冠冕必在他頭上發光。』

看哪，這裏來了做騎兵的人，馬兵一隊一隊地來！』他就回答說：『垮台了！巴比倫垮台了！她的神所有的雕像、主都給摔碎於地上了。』

『你們要傳揚於列國中，使他們聽到，要把旌旗豎起；要使人聽到，不可隱瞞，說：「巴比倫已被攻取，彼勒蒙羞愧，米羅達驚慌；巴比倫的神像都蒙羞愧，她的偶像都驚慌。」

將朝服和馬交在王最顯達的大臣中的一個人手下，好讓人使給王所喜歡賜顯貴的人穿上，使他在城裏廣場上騎上那馬，讓人在他面前宣告說：「王所喜歡賜顯貴的人應該這樣受款待。」』

黑夜已深，白晝已近；所以我們要脫去黑暗之行為，穿上亮光之軍裝。

那時外族人必伺候你們，牧放你們的羊羣，外邦人必為你們耕種田地、整理葡萄園；

永恆主向他們必顯為可畏懼，因為他必使地上眾神明都饑餓瘦弱，列國沿海地帶都必各從自己的地方敬拜他。

所以你們被上帝揀選的人、聖別而蒙愛的、你們要穿上憐憫的心腸、和慈惠、謙卑、柔和、恆忍。

他穿着義氣為鎧甲，將拯救的頭盔戴在頭上；他穿着替人伸冤的衣裳為服裝，披着熱心為外袍。

我必察罰在巴比倫的彼勒，從他口中挖出他所吞的；列國必不再流歸於他；巴比倫的城牆倒壞了。

非利士人將他們的偶像撇在那裏，大衛和跟隨的人給拿走了。
