今我請爾、諮諏我之上帝耶和華、彼所命者、無論其得我心與否、我必聽從、望得亨通。

今我求爾禱於主我之天主、主所命者、無論我悅與不悅、我必聽從、我聽從主我天主之命、庶幾可以獲福、獲福或作亨通

Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of Jehovah our God.

However, I did give them this command:‘ Obey me, and then I will be your God, and you will be my people. Follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.’

If only they had such a heart to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that they and their children would prosper forever.

Follow the whole instruction the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live, prosper, and have a long life in the land you will possess.

What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet.

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey all that the LORD has commanded.”

Do this so that you may fear the LORD your God all the days of your life by keeping all his statutes and commands I am giving you, your son, and your grandson, and so that you may have a long life.Listen, Israel, and be careful to follow them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly, because the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has promised you a land flowing with milk and honey.

You will surely eat what your hands have worked for. You will be happy, and it will go well for you.

Therefore, did what is good become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, in order to be recognized as sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become sinful beyond measure.

If only my people would listen to me and Israel would follow my ways,I would quickly subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.”Those who hate the LORD would cower to him; their doom would last forever.But he would feed Israel with the best wheat.“ I would satisfy you with honey from the rock.”

The mindset of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God’s law. Indeed, it is unable to do so.

So the people said to Joshua,“ We will worship the LORD our God and obey him.”

Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labor.
