saying,‘ No, but we will go to the land of Egypt where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor be hungry for bread, and there we will dwell’—

說：『我們不住這地，卻要進入埃及地，在那裏看不見爭戰，聽不見角聲，也不致無食飢餓。我們必住在那裏。』

說：『我們不留在這地，卻要進入埃及地，在那裏我們看不見戰爭，聽不見角聲，也不致缺食挨餓；我們要住在那裏。』

說：『我們不留在這地，卻要進入埃及地，在那裏我們看不見戰爭，聽不見角聲，也不致缺食挨餓；我們要住在那裏。』

非要去埃及住，以為那裡沒有戰爭，聽不見號角聲，也不會忍饑挨餓，

曰、不然、我必入埃及地、在彼不睹戰事、不聞角聲、不乏食而飢餓、爰處爰居、

必往埃及、恆居於彼、不見戰鬥、不聞角音、不遇饑饉、

如曰、我必往伊及地、在彼不見戰事、不聞角聲、不至缺食而饑餓、我必居於伊及、

and if you say,‘ No, we will go and live in Egypt, where we will not see war or hear the trumpet or be hungry for bread,’

And suppose you say,‘ No! We’ll go and live in Egypt. There we won’t have to face war anymore. We won’t hear the trumpets of war. And we won’t get hungry.’

and saying,‘ No, we will go to the land of Egypt, where we shall not see war or hear the sound of the trumpet or be hungry for bread, and we will dwell there,’

instead, we will go to Egypt where we will be free from war, the call to arms, and hunger,’

and if you say,‘ No, instead we’ll go to the land of Egypt where we will not see war or hear the sound of the ram’s horn or hunger for food, and we’ll live there,’

saying,“ No, but we will go to the land of Egypt, where we will not see war, or hear the sound of a trumpet, or hunger for bread, and we will stay there”;

saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

and if you say,‘ No, instead we’ll go to the land of Egypt where we will not see war or hear the sound of the ram’s horn or hunger for food, and we’ll live there,’

Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

You must not say,‘ No, we will not stay. Instead we will go and live in the land of Egypt where we will not face war, or hear the enemy’s trumpet calls, or starve for lack of food.’

saying,“ No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we will see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:”’

And they departed and dwelt in the habitation of Chimham, which is near Bethlehem, as they went on their way to Egypt,

O my soul, my soul! I am pained in my very heart! My heart makes a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, Because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.

And the children of Israel said to them,“ Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!

How long will I see the standard, And hear the sound of the trumpet?

And you said,“ No, for we will flee on horses”— Therefore you shall flee! And,“ We will ride on swift horses”— Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!

And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said,“ Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?

Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said:“ Who will give us meat to eat?We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic;

and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying,‘ I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’— as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.

So they went to the land of Egypt, for they did not obey the voice of the Lord. And they went as far as Tahpanhes.
