以色列人見事處困迫、遭於患難、則匿於巖穴、林藪、岡巒、坎阱。

至途間羊牢之所、其旁有穴、入而寢、大闢與從者亦在穴中。

五王遁至馬基大匿於穴。有告約書亞曰、五王在馬基大、匿於穴。約書亞曰、移大石塞穴、使人守之、

二人遂出、使非利士人觀瞻。非利士人曰、希百來人素匿於巢穴、今已出矣。

流離轉徙、或荒野、或山巔、或地穴、若此之人、世不足居之、

素匿於以法蓮山之以色列人、聞非利士人遁、則出以戰、而襲其後。
