你若看回去好，就回到沙番的孫子亞希甘的兒子基大利那裏去吧；基大利是巴比倫王立做猶大眾城市的總督的；你可以在他那裏住在人民中間：或者你看哪裏頂合宜去，就上哪裏去吧。』於是護衛長給他一分糧食以及賞賜，便放他走。

那麼你們所怕的刀劍就會在埃及地那裏趕上你們；你們所恐懼的饑荒就會緊跟着你們到埃及那裏，使你們死在那裏。

『是我，我親自安慰你們的；你怎麼啦，你竟怕那會死的人，怕那生成如草的世人呀！你竟忘了那造了你、的永恆主，那展開諸天，奠定了大地的，而那窘迫人者準備要行毁滅時、你就終日懼怕他的烈怒呀！其實那窘迫人者的烈怒在哪裏呢？

你怕誰？你因誰而恐懼，竟然撒謊？連我、你都不懷念，不放在心上！豈不是我緘默不言又閉口許久了，以致連我、你都不畏懼麼？

你們卻說：『不！我們要騎馬奔跑；』故此你們真地要逃跑；你們又說：『我們要騎迅速輕快的』；故此追趕你們的也必迅速輕快。一人叱喝，千人就發顫，五人叱喝，你們就逃跑，以致你們剩下的就像山頂上的旗杆，岡陵上的旌旗。

但是七月間、王家後裔以利沙瑪的孫子尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利卻帶着十個人一同來，擊打了基大利以至於死，又擊殺了同他在米斯巴的猶大人和迦勒底人。
