亚伯兰听见他侄儿被掳去，就把三百一十八个生在他家中、受过训练的壮丁全都出动去追，一直到但。在夜间，他和他的仆人分队击败了敌人，并且追杀他们，直到大马士革北边的何把。他把一切被掳掠的财物夺回，也把他侄儿罗得和他的财物，以及人和妇女都夺回来。
