我這話不是指着你們眾人說的，我知道我所揀選的是誰。現在要應驗經上的話，說：『同我吃飯的人用腳踢我。』

約押左手拾起刀來，對亞瑪撒說：「我兄弟，你好啊！」就用右手抓住亞瑪撒的鬍子，要與他親嘴。亞瑪撒沒有防備約押手裏所拿的刀；約押用刀刺入他的肚腹，他的腸子流在地上，沒有再刺他，就死了。約押和他兄弟亞比篩往前追趕比基利的兒子示巴。

火熱的嘴，奸惡的心，好像銀渣包的瓦器。怨恨人的，用嘴粉飾，心裏卻藏着詭詐；他用甜言蜜語，你不可信他，因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的。他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨，他的邪惡必在會中顯露。

對他說：「亞捫人的王巴利斯打發尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利來要你的命，你知道嗎？」亞希甘的兒子基大利卻不信他們的話。加利亞的兒子約哈難在米斯巴私下對基大利說：「求你容我去殺尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利，必無人知道。何必讓他要你的命，使聚集到你這裏來的猶大人都分散，以致猶大剩下的人都滅亡呢？」亞希甘的兒子基大利對加利亞的兒子約哈難說：「你不可行這事，你所論以實瑪利的話是假的。」

七月間，宗室以利沙瑪的孫子、尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利帶着十個人來，殺了基大利和同他在米斯巴的猶大人與迦勒底人。

驕傲只啟爭競；聽勸言的，卻有智慧。

說話之間，來了許多人。那十二個門徒裏名叫猶大的，走在前頭，就近耶穌，要與他親嘴。耶穌對他說：「猶大！你用親嘴的暗號賣人子嗎？」

他們向我以惡報善，以恨報愛。

忿怒為殘忍，怒氣為狂瀾，惟有嫉妒，誰能敵得住呢？

押尼珥回到希伯崙，約押領他到城門的甕洞，假作要與他說機密話，就在那裏刺透他的肚腹，他便死了。這是報殺他兄弟亞撒黑的仇。

亞哈謝的母親亞她利雅見她兒子死了，就起來剿滅王室。

吃王膳的，必敗壞他；他的軍隊必被沖沒，而且被殺的甚多。至於這二王，他們心懷惡計，同席說謊，計謀卻不成就；因為到了定期，事就了結。
