However, before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added,“ Go back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the towns of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.” Then the commander gave him provisions and a present and let him go.

But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan continued,“ Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam. The king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah to be over the towns of Judah. Go and live with him among your people. Or go anywhere else you want to.” Ahikam was the son of Shaphan. The commander gave Jeremiah food and water. He also gave him a gift. Then he let Jeremiah go.

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go.

If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules. But it’s up to you; go wherever you like.” Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, gave Jeremiah some food and money and let him go.

When Jeremiah had not yet turned to go, Nebuzaradan said to him,“ Return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people or go wherever it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the guards gave him a ration and a gift and released him.

As Jeremiah was still not going back, he said,“ Go on back then to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people; or else go anywhere it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the bodyguard gave him a ration and a gift, and let him go.

Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

Now while he had not yet gone back,“ Go back then,” he said,“ to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

打发人去，将耶利米从护卫兵院中提出来，交与沙番的孙子亚希甘的儿子基大利，带回家去。于是耶利米住在民中。

以利沙来到大马士革，亚兰王便哈达正患病。有人告诉王说：“神人来到这里了。”王就吩咐哈薛说：“你带着礼物去见神人，托他求问耶和华，我这病能好不能好？”于是哈薛用四十个骆驼，驮着大马士革的各样美物为礼物，去见以利沙。到了他那里，站在他面前，说：“你儿子亚兰王便哈达打发我来见你，他问说：‘我这病能好不能好？’”

尼探雅的儿子以实玛利和同他来的那十个人起来，用刀杀了沙番的孙子亚希甘的儿子基大利，就是巴比伦王所立为全地省长的。

吩咐祭司希勒家与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米该亚的儿子亚革波、书记沙番和王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：

至于犹大国剩下的民，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒所剩下的，巴比伦王立了沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利作他们的省长。众军长和属他们的人听见巴比伦王立了基大利作省长，于是军长尼探雅的儿子以实玛利、加利亚的儿子约哈难、尼陀法人单户篾的儿子西莱雅、玛迦人的儿子雅撒尼亚，和属他们的人都到米斯巴见基大利。基大利向他们和属他们的人起誓说：“你们不必惧怕迦勒底臣仆，只管住在这地服侍巴比伦王，就可以得福。”

人所行的，若蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。

第二天，到了西顿；犹流宽待保罗，准他往朋友那里去，受他们的照应。

这以斯拉从巴比伦上来，他是敏捷的文士，通达耶和华以色列神所赐摩西的律法书。王允准他一切所求的，是因耶和华他神的手帮助他。

人使你降卑，你仍可说：必得高升；谦卑的人，神必然拯救。

然而，沙番的儿子亚希甘保护耶利米，不交在百姓的手中治死他。

吩咐希勒家与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米迦的儿子亚比顿、书记沙番，和王的臣仆亚撒雅说：

但百夫长要救保罗，不准他们任意而行，就吩咐会洑水的，跳下水去先上岸；

以斯拉说：“耶和华我们列祖的神是应当称颂的！因他使王起这心意修饰耶路撒冷耶和华的殿，

于是，祭司希勒家和亚希甘、亚革波、沙番、亚撒雅都去见女先知户勒大。户勒大是掌管礼服沙龙的妻；沙龙是哈珥哈斯的孙子、特瓦的儿子。户勒大住在耶路撒冷第二区。他们请问于她。

王问我说：“你要求什么？”于是我默祷天上的神。我对王说：“仆人若在王眼前蒙恩，王若喜欢，求王差遣我往犹大，到我列祖坟墓所在的那城去，我好重新建造。”那时王后坐在王的旁边。王问我说：“你去要多少日子？几时回来？”我就定了日期。于是王喜欢差遣我去。我又对王说：“王若喜欢，求王赐我诏书，通知大河西的省长准我经过，直到犹大；又赐诏书，通知管理王园林的亚萨，使他给我木料，做属殿营楼之门的横梁和城墙，与我自己房屋使用的。”王就允准我，因我神施恩的手帮助我。

现在我解开你手上的链子，你若看与我同往巴比伦去好，就可以去，我必厚待你；你若看与我同往巴比伦去不好，就不必去。看哪，全地在你面前，你以为哪里美好，哪里合宜，只管上那里去吧！”

所以我们可以放胆说：“主是帮助我的，我必不惧怕；人能把我怎么样呢？”

主啊，求你侧耳听你仆人的祈祷，和喜爱敬畏你名众仆人的祈祷，使你仆人现今亨通，在王面前蒙恩。”我是作王酒政的。

耶和华说：“我必要坚固你，使你得好处。灾祸苦难临到的时候，我必要使仇敌央求你。

他们又多方地尊敬我们；到了开船的时候，也把我们所需用的送到船上。

王的心在耶和华手中，好像陇沟的水随意流转。

犹大王约雅斤被掳后三十七年，巴比伦王以未米罗达元年十二月二十五日，使犹大王约雅斤抬头，提他出监，又对他说恩言，使他的位高过与他一同在巴比伦众王的位，给他脱了囚服。他终身在巴比伦王面前吃饭。巴比伦王赐他所需用的食物，日日赐他一份，终身是这样，直到他死的日子。
