However, before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan added,“ Go back to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the towns of Judah, and live with him among the people, or go anywhere else you please.” Then the commander gave him provisions and a present and let him go.

But before Jeremiah turned to go, Nebuzaradan continued,“ Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam. The king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah to be over the towns of Judah. Go and live with him among your people. Or go anywhere else you want to.” Ahikam was the son of Shaphan. The commander gave Jeremiah food and water. He also gave him a gift. Then he let Jeremiah go.

If you remain, then return to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed governor of the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever you think it right to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a present, and let him go.

If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules. But it’s up to you; go wherever you like.” Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, gave Jeremiah some food and money and let him go.

When Jeremiah had not yet turned to go, Nebuzaradan said to him,“ Return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people or go wherever it seems right for you to go.” So the captain of the guards gave him a ration and a gift and released him.

Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

Now while he had not yet gone back,“ Go back then,” he said,“ to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

把耶利米從衛兵的院子裡提出來，交給沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，叫他帶耶利米回家去。這樣，耶利米就住在人民中間。

以利沙來到大馬士革。亞蘭王便．哈達患了病。有人告訴他說：“神人來到這裡了。”王對哈薛說：“你帶著禮物，去見神人，託他求問耶和華說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”於是哈薛去見以利沙。他帶著禮物，就是大馬士革各樣的美物，由四十匹駱駝馱著，去站在他的面前，說：“你的兒子亞蘭王便．哈達派我到你這裡來，問你說：‘我這病能痊愈嗎？’”

尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利和與他一起的那十個人就起來，用刀襲擊沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利，就是巴比倫王指派管理那地的，把他殺掉。

王又吩咐希勒家祭司、沙番的兒子亞希甘、米該亞的兒子亞革博、書記沙番和王的臣僕及亞撒雅說：

至於在猶大地剩下來的人民，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒留下來的，巴比倫王委派沙番的孫子、亞希甘的兒子基大利管理他們。眾將領和他們的士兵，聽見巴比倫王委派了基大利，他們就來到米斯巴去見基大利；其中有尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利、加利亞的兒子約哈難、尼陀法人單戶篾的兒子西萊雅、瑪迦人的兒子雅撒尼亞，以及他們的士兵。基大利向他們和他們的士兵起誓，又對他們說：“你們不必懼怕迦勒底的官員，只管住在這地，服事巴比倫王，就可以平安無事。”

人所行的，若是蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華也使他的仇敵與他和好。

第二天到了西頓，猶流寬待保羅，准他去看看朋友，接受他們的招待。

這位以斯拉是一位經學家，精通耶和華以色列的神賜給摩西的律法；因為耶和華他神的手幫助他，所以王賜他所求的一切，他就從巴比倫上來。

人謙卑的時候，你就說：‘升高吧！’眼中謙卑的他必拯救，

然而沙番的兒子亞希甘卻保護耶利米，不許人把耶利米交在人民的手中處死。

吩咐希勒家和沙番的兒子亞希甘、米迦的兒子亞比頓、書記沙番，以及王的臣僕亞撒雅，說：

但百夫長想要救保羅，就阻止他們這樣行。他吩咐會游泳的跳下水去，先到岸上，

以斯拉說：“耶和華我們列祖的神是應該稱頌的，因為他把這樣的意念放在君王的心裡，使他修飾那在耶路撒冷的耶和華的殿；

於是希勒家祭司、亞希甘、亞革博、沙番、亞撒雅去見女先知戶勒大。她就是掌管禮服的沙龍的妻子，沙龍是哈珥哈斯的孫子、特瓦的兒子。她住在耶路撒冷第二區；他們就把事情都告訴了她。

王問我：“你想要甚麼呢？”我就向天上的神禱告，然後對王說：“如果王認為好，僕人能在你面前蒙恩寵，就請你差派我往猶大，到我列祖墳墓所在的城去，讓我重建那城。”那時，王后坐在王的旁邊。王問我：“你的行程需時多久？你甚麼時候回來？”王既然認為好，就差派我去，我也定了一個歸期。我又問王：“王若是認為好，請賜給我詔書，通知河西那邊的省長准我經過，直至我到達猶大；又賜詔書，給看守王的園林的亞薩，吩咐他給我木材，建造聖殿的營樓大門的橫梁，以及建造城牆和我要入住的房屋。”因為我的神施恩的手幫助我，王就賜給我這一切。

我現在解開你手上的鐵鍊。你若認為與我一同到巴比倫去好，就一起去，我必好好照顧你；你若認為與我一同到巴比倫去不好，就不必去。看，全地都在你面前，你認為去哪裡好、哪裡合宜，就到哪裡去吧！”

所以我們可以放膽說：“主是我的幫助，我決不害怕，人能把我怎麼樣呢？”

主啊，求你留意聽你僕人的禱告，也聽那些喜愛敬畏你名的僕人的禱告；求你使你的僕人今天順利，使他在這人面前蒙憐憫。”那時我是王的酒政。

耶和華說：“我必為你的好處釋放你；在遭遇禍患和災難的時候，我必叫你的仇敵懇求你。

他們多方面尊敬我們；到開船的時候，又把我們所需要的東西送來。

君王的心在耶和華手中，好像水溝的水，他可以隨意轉移。

猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，就是巴比倫王以未．米羅達登基的那一年，十二月二十五日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起頭來”）猶大王約雅斤，把他從獄中領出來，並且安慰他，使他的地位高過和他一起在巴比倫的眾王。又換下他的囚衣，賜他終生常在王面前吃飯。他的生活費用，在他一生的年日中，每日不斷由巴比倫王供應，直到他去世的日子。
