猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見他們，便逃跑，就在夜間從王家園子的路、兩城牆中間的門、出城，按亞拉巴的路向出走。迦勒底人的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥原野追上了西底家，將他拿住，把他帶上去到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就宣佈判語定他的罪。巴比倫王在利比拉當西底家眼前將他的眾兒子都宰殺掉；巴比倫王也宰殺了猶大所有顯貴的人，

因此永恆主使亞述王的將軍來攻擊他們，用鐃鈎鈎住瑪拿西，用銅鍊鎖着他，將他帶到巴比倫去。

以色列人見自己危急（因為以色列民真地窘迫），就藏在山洞、叢林、碞穴、地窘、或坑井中，

那時人必對山說起話來說：「倒在我們身上吧！」必對小山說：「遮蓋我們吧！」
