How long is the land to mourn, And the vegetation of the countryside to dry up? Due to the wickedness of those who live in it, Animals and birds have been snatched away, Because people have said,“ He will not see our final end.”

I clothe the heavens with blackness, And make sackcloth their covering.”

God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Therefore the land mourns, And everyone who lives in it languishes Along with the animals of the field and the birds of the sky, And even the fish of the sea disappear.

And it will roar against it on that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks across to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress; Even the light is darkened by its clouds.

I will display wonders in the sky and on the earth, Blood, fire, and columns of smoke.The sun will be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

“ As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up a cry or prayer for them, and do not plead with Me; for I am not listening to you.

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He set forth in Him,

For the land is full of adulterers; For the land mourns because of the curse. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil And their might is not right.

It has been made a desolation; Desolate, it mourns before Me; The whole land has been made desolate, Because no one takes it to heart.

The highways are desolate, the traveler has ceased, He has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, He has no regard for mankind.The land mourns and wastes away, Lebanon is shamed and withers; Sharon is like a desert plain, And Bashan and Carmel lose their foliage.

When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour.

The anger of the Lord will not turn back Until He has performed and carried out the purposes of His heart; In the last days you will clearly understand it.

Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying,‘ My plan will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;Calling a bird of prey from the east, The man of My purpose from a distant country. Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, I will certainly do it.

The Lord of armies has sworn, saying,“ Certainly, just as I have intended, so it has happened, and just as I have planned, so it will stand,to break Assyria in My land, and I will trample him on My mountains. Then his yoke will be removed from them, and his burden removed from their shoulders.This is the plan devised against the entire earth; and this is the hand that is stretched out against all the nations.For the Lord of armies has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched out hand, who can turn it back?”

The earth dries up and crumbles away, the mainland dries out and crumbles away, the exalted of the people of the earth dwindle.

In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things in accordance with the plan of His will,

I, the Lord, have spoken; it is coming and I will act. I will not overlook, I will not pity, and I will not be sorry; according to your ways and according to your deeds I will judge you,” declares the Lord God.’ ”

Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? Death, where are your thorns? Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight.

I looked at the earth, and behold, it was a formless and desolate emptiness; And to the heavens, and they had no light.I looked on the mountains, and behold, they were quaking, And all the hills jolted back and forth.I looked, and behold, there was no human, And all the birds of the sky had fled.I looked, and behold, the fruitful land was a wilderness, And all its cities were pulled down Before the Lord, before His fierce anger.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before Me, My heart would not be with this people. Send them away from My presence and have them go!And it shall be that when they say to you,‘ Where should we go?’ then you are to tell them,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ Those destined for death, to death; And those destined for the sword, to the sword; And those destined for famine, to famine; And those destined for captivity, to captivity.” ’And I will appoint over them four kinds of doom,” declares the Lord:“ the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth to devour and destroy.I will make them an object of terror among all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, the king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem.“ Indeed, who will have pity on you, Jerusalem, Or who will mourn for you, Or who will turn aside to ask about your welfare?You who have forsaken Me,” declares the Lord,“ You keep going backward. So I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you; I am tired of relenting!I will winnow them with a winnowing fork At the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy My people; They did not repent of their ways.Their widows will be more numerous before Me Than the sand of the seas; I will bring against them, against the mother of a young man, A destroyer at noon; I will suddenly bring down on her Shock and horror.She who gave birth to seven sons withers away; Her breathing is labored. Her sun has set while it was still day; She has been shamed and humiliated. So I will turn over their survivors to the sword Before their enemies,” declares the Lord.

It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the entire land until the ninth hour,

“ Judah mourns And her gates languish; Her people sit on the ground in mourning garments, And the cry of Jerusalem has ascended.

And I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;

The field is ruined, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine has dried up, Fresh oil has failed.

Also the Glory of Israel will not lie nor change His mind; for He is not a man, that He would change His mind.”

( for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him,“ The Lord has sworn And will not change His mind,‘ You are a priest forever’ ”);

So the Lord said to me,“ Do not pray for a good outcome on behalf of this people.When they fast, I am not going to listen to their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I am not going to accept them. Rather, I am going to put an end to them by the sword, famine, and plague.”

Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.

The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back Until He has performed and accomplished The intent of His heart. In the latter days you will understand this.

And all the heavenly lights will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All its lights will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree.
