“ For My people are foolish, They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. They are skillful at doing evil, But they do not know how to do good.”

『因為我的人民愚妄，連我、他們也不認識；愚頑的兒女啊、他們！無知啊、他們！他們有智巧去作壞事，要怎樣行善、卻不曉得。』

我民蒙昧、而不我識、愚蠢之子、罔有聰慧、行惡有智、行善無智、○

耶和華曰、我民愚昧、俱不知我、不明孰甚、作惡則智、為善則愚。

主曰、我民愚拙、俱不知我、蒙昧之子、毫無明哲、惟巧於行惡、不知行善、

“ My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”

The Lord says,“ My people are foolish. They do not know me. They are children who do not have any sense. They have no understanding at all. They are skilled in doing what is evil. They do not know how to do what is good.”

“ For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are‘ wise’— in doing evil! But how to do good they know not.”

“ My people are foolish and do not know me,” says the Lord.“ They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right!”

“ For my people are fools; they do not know me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

“ For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge.”

For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

For my people[ is] foolish, they have not known me; they[ are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they[ are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

The LORD answered,“ This will happen because my people are foolish. They do not know me. They are like children who have no sense. They have no understanding. They are skilled at doing evil. They do not know how to do good.”

“ For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”

Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

For the report of your obedience has reached everyone; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil.

‘ Now hear this, you foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see, Who have ears but do not hear.

There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God;

Woe to those who devise wrongdoing, Who practice evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, Because it is in the power of their hands.

Their deeds will not allow them To return to their God. For a spirit of infidelity is within them, And they do not know the Lord.

“ For they are a nation destitute of counsel, And there is no understanding in them.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Since you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children.

These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, Or the leopard his spots? Then you as well can do good Who are accustomed to doing evil.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper,

When its limbs are dry, they are broken off; Women come and make a fire with them, For they are not a people of discernment, Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them. And their Creator will not be gracious to them.

And He said,“ Go, and tell this people:‘ Keep on listening, but do not understand; And keep on looking, but do not gain knowledge.’Make the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes blind, So that they will not see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed.”

Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

But they are altogether stupid and foolish; The instruction from idols is nothing but wood!

Then I said,“ They are only the poor, They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the Lord Or the judgment of their God.

Who is blind but My servant, Or so deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is so blind as one who is at peace with Me, Or so blind as the servant of the Lord?You have seen many things, but you do not retain them; Your ears are open, but no one hears.

An ox knows its owner, And a donkey its master’s manger, But Israel does not know, My people do not understand.”

Where is the wise person? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made foolish the wisdom of the world?For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

The fool has said in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed detestable acts; There is no one who does good.The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of mankind To see if there are any who understand, Who seek God.They have all turned aside, together they are corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.Do all the workers of injustice not know, Who devour my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon the Lord?

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?And you say,‘ Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the offering that is on it is obligated.’You blind men, which is more important, the offering or the altar that sanctifies the offering?Therefore, the one who swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it.And the one who swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells in it.And the one who swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may also become clean.

And his master complimented the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.

Is this what you do to the Lord, You foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father who has purchased you? He has made you and established you.

Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Have relations with your father’s concubines, whom he has left behind to take care of the house; then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself repulsive to your father. The hands of all who are with you will also be strengthened.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and Absalom had relations with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now the advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was taken as though one inquired of the word of God; so was all the advice of Ahithophel regarded by both David and Absalom.

Even the stork in the sky Knows her seasons; And the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane Keep to the time of their migration; But My people do not know The judgment of the Lord.“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the Law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.The wise men are put to shame, They are dismayed and caught; Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, So what kind of wisdom do they have?

Listen to the word of the Lord, you sons of Israel, Because the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, For there is no faithfulness, nor loyalty, Nor knowledge of God in the land.

But Amnon had a friend whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David’s brother; and Jonadab was a very clever man.

For the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep sleep, He has shut your eyes— the prophets; And He has covered your heads— the seers.The entire vision will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which, when they give it to the one who is literate, saying,“ Please read this,” he will say,“ I cannot, because it is sealed.”Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying,“ Please read this.” And he will say,“ I cannot read.”
