For my people[ is] foolish, they have not known me; they[ are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they[ are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

耶和华说：“我的百姓愚顽，不认识我；他们是愚昧无知的儿女，有智慧行恶，没有知识行善。”

我民蒙昧、而不我識、愚蠢之子、罔有聰慧、行惡有智、行善無智、○

耶和華曰、我民愚昧、俱不知我、不明孰甚、作惡則智、為善則愚。

主曰、我民愚拙、俱不知我、蒙昧之子、毫無明哲、惟巧於行惡、不知行善、

“ My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”

The Lord says,“ My people are foolish. They do not know me. They are children who do not have any sense. They have no understanding at all. They are skilled in doing what is evil. They do not know how to do what is good.”

“ For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are‘ wise’— in doing evil! But how to do good they know not.”

“ My people are foolish and do not know me,” says the Lord.“ They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right!”

“ For my people are fools; they do not know me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

“ For My people are foolish, They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. They are skillful at doing evil, But they do not know how to do good.”

“ For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge.”

For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

“ For My people are fools; they do not know Me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

The LORD answered,“ This will happen because my people are foolish. They do not know me. They are like children who have no sense. They have no understanding. They are skilled at doing evil. They do not know how to do good.”

“ For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”

Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

For your obedience is come abroad unto all[ men]. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms[ is] in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

For they[ are] a nation void of counsel, neither[ is there any] understanding in them.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots?[ then] may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.

And even as they did not like to retain God in[ their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come,[ and] set them on fire: for it[ is] a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock[ is] a doctrine of vanities.

Therefore I said, Surely these[ are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD,[ nor] the judgment of their God.

Who[ is] blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger[ that] I sent? who[ is] blind as[ he that is] perfect, and blind as the LORD’S servant?Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib:[ but] Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Where[ is] the wise? where[ is] the scribe? where[ is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

The fool hath said in his heart,[ There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works,[ there is] none that doeth good.The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand,[ and] seek God.They are all gone aside, they are[ all] together become filthy:[ there is] none that doeth good, no, not one.Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

Woe unto you,[ ye] blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor![ Ye] fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.[ Ye] fools and blind: for whether[ is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier[ matters] of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.[ Ye] blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.[ Thou] blind Pharisee, cleanse first that[ which is] within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise?[ is] not he thy father[ that] hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that[ are] with thee be strong.So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days,[ was] as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so[ was] all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.How do ye say, We[ are] wise, and the law of the LORD[ is] with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he[ it]; the pen of the scribes[ is] in vain.The wise[ men] are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom[ is] in them?

Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because[ there is] no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

But Amnon had a friend, whose name[ was] Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab[ was] a very subtil man.

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which[ men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it[ is] sealed:And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
