“ For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are‘ wise’— in doing evil! But how to do good they know not.”

耶和华说：“我的百姓愚顽，不认识我；他们是愚昧无知的儿女，有智慧行恶，没有知识行善。”

『因為我的人民愚妄，連我、他們也不認識；愚頑的兒女啊、他們！無知啊、他們！他們有智巧去作壞事，要怎樣行善、卻不曉得。』

我民蒙昧、而不我識、愚蠢之子、罔有聰慧、行惡有智、行善無智、○

耶和華曰、我民愚昧、俱不知我、不明孰甚、作惡則智、為善則愚。

主曰、我民愚拙、俱不知我、蒙昧之子、毫無明哲、惟巧於行惡、不知行善、

“ My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”

The Lord says,“ My people are foolish. They do not know me. They are children who do not have any sense. They have no understanding at all. They are skilled in doing what is evil. They do not know how to do what is good.”

“ My people are foolish and do not know me,” says the Lord.“ They are stupid children who have no understanding. They are clever enough at doing wrong, but they have no idea how to do right!”

“ For my people are fools; they do not know me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

“ For My people are foolish, They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. They are skillful at doing evil, But they do not know how to do good.”

For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

“ For My people are fools; they do not know Me. They are foolish children, without understanding. They are skilled in doing what is evil, but they do not know how to do what is good.”

For my people[ is] foolish, they have not known me; they[ are] sottish children, and they have none understanding: they[ are] wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

The LORD answered,“ This will happen because my people are foolish. They do not know me. They are like children who have no sense. They have no understanding. They are skilled at doing evil. They do not know how to do good.”

“ For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.

For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.

“ Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not.

no one understands; no one seeks for God.

Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.

Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. For the spirit of whoredom is within them, and they know not the Lord.

“ For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? Then also you can do good who are accustomed to do evil.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.

And he said,“ Go, and say to this people:“‘ Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

They are both stupid and foolish; the instruction of idols is but wood!

Then I said,“ These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.

Who is blind but my servant, or deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is blind as my dedicated one, or blind as the servant of the Lord?He sees many things, but does not observe them; his ears are open, but he does not hear.

The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

The fool says in his heart,“ There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord?

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?And you say,‘ If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it.And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who sits upon it.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

Do you thus repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?

Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Go in to your father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the house, and all Israel will hear that you have made yourself a stench to your father, and the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof. And Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now in those days the counsel that Ahithophel gave was as if one consulted the word of God; so was all the counsel of Ahithophel esteemed, both by David and by Absalom.

Even the stork in the heavens knows her times, and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming, but my people know not the rules of the Lord.“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into a lie.The wise men shall be put to shame; they shall be dismayed and taken; behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, so what wisdom is in them?

Hear the word of the Lord, O children of Israel, for the Lord has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, and no knowledge of God in the land;

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David’s brother. And Jonadab was a very crafty man.

For the Lord has poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes( the prophets), and covered your heads( the seers).And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying,“ Read this,” he says,“ I cannot, for it is sealed.”And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying,“ Read this,” he says,“ I cannot read.”
