论到那些先知，我的心都碎了，我的骨头都颤抖。因为耶和华和祂圣言的缘故，我好像不胜酒力的醉汉。

那是降烈怒的日子，是困苦艰难的日子，是摧残毁坏的日子，是黑暗幽冥的日子，是阴霾密布的日子，是吹号呐喊、攻打坚城高垒的日子。

我对耶和华说：“你是我的主，我美好的一切都从你而来。”

当你们在自己的土地上跟敌人作战时，要吹号，你们的上帝耶和华必眷顾你们，救你们脱离敌人。

若城中响起号角，居民岂不恐惧颤抖？若灾祸降临城中，岂不是耶和华的作为？

我心里极为忧愁，痛苦不止！为了我的弟兄——我的同胞以色列人，即使我自己被咒诅、与基督隔绝，我也愿意！

孩子们，为了你们，我像一位母亲再次经历生产的痛苦，一直到基督的生命在你们里面成形。

“耶利米，你要对他们说，‘让我昼夜泪眼汪汪吧，因为我的同胞遭受重创，遍体鳞伤。我走到田间，眼前是具具被杀的尸体；我进入城里，见饥荒肆虐，祭司和先知也流亡异乡。’”
