“ Tell the nations. Make an announcement concerning Jerusalem. Say,‘ An army will attack Judah. It is coming from a land far away. It will shout a war cry against the cities of Judah.

要向列國提說：「看哪！他來了」，要將攻擊耶路撒冷的事公布出來：『有圍困者從遠地來到，向猶大的城市大聲挑戰。

當傳示列邦、宣告耶路撒冷曰、圍攻者來自遠方、大聲呼於猶大諸邑、

當告列邦、使耶路撒冷人知勁旅來自遠方、欲攻猶大諸邑。

“ Tell this to the nations, proclaim concerning Jerusalem:‘ A besieging army is coming from a distant land, raising a war cry against the cities of Judah.

“ Warn the surrounding nations and announce this to Jerusalem: The enemy is coming from a distant land, raising a battle cry against the towns of Judah.

Warn the nations: Look! Proclaim to Jerusalem: Those who besiege are coming from a distant land; they raise their voices against the cities of Judah.

“ Report it to the nations, now! Proclaim to Jerusalem,‘ Enemies are coming from a remote country, And they raise their voices against the cities of Judah.

“ Make mention to the nations, Yes, proclaim against Jerusalem, That watchers come from a far country And raise their voice against the cities of Judah.

Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

Warn the nations: Look! Proclaim to Jerusalem: Those who besiege are coming from a distant land; they raise their voices against the cities of Judah.

They are saying,‘ Announce to the surrounding nations,“ The enemy is coming!” Proclaim this message to Jerusalem:“ Those who besiege cities are coming from a distant land. They are ready to raise the battle cry against the towns in Judah.”’

“ Tell the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem,‘ Watchers come from a far country, and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.

His right hand will pull out the arrow for Jerusalem. There he will get huge logs ready to knock down its gates. He will give the command to kill its people. He will sound the battle cry. He will build a ramp up to the city wall. He will bring in his war machines.

“ People of Israel, listen to me,” announces the Lord.“ I am bringing against you a nation from far away. It is an old nation. And it will last for a long time. Its people speak a language you do not know. You can’t understand what they are saying.

Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah. Isaiah asked him,“ What did those men say? Where did they come from?”“ They came from a land far away,” Hezekiah said.“ They came to me from Babylon.”

Nations, come near and listen to me! Pay attention to what I’m about to say. Let the earth and everything in it listen. Let the world and everything that comes out of it pay attention.

“ Important and unimportant people alike will die in this land. Their bodies will not be buried. No one will mourn for them. No one will cut themselves or shave their head for the dead.

“ Announce this message among the nations. Lift up a banner. Let the nations hear the message. Do not keep anything back. Say,‘ Babylon will be captured. The god named Bel will be put to shame. The god named Marduk will be filled with terror. Babylon’s gods will be put to shame. The gods its people made will be filled with terror.’

Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, marched out against Jerusalem. He came with all his armies and attacked it. It was in the ninth year that Zedekiah was king of Judah. It was in the tenth month.

It will surround them like people who guard a field. Judah has refused to obey me,’ ” announces the Lord.

The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away. It will come from the ends of the earth. It will dive down on you like an eagle. You won’t understand that nation’s language.Its people will look mean. They won’t have any respect for old people. They won’t show any kindness to young people.They will eat up the young animals among your livestock. They’ll eat up the crops on your land. They’ll destroy you. They won’t leave you any grain, olive oil or fresh wine. They won’t leave you any calves or lambs. They’ll destroy you.They’ll surround all the cities throughout your whole land. They’ll attack those cities until the high, strong walls you trust in fall down. That’s what will happen to the cities in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

“ Listen to my message, you nations. Announce it on shores far away. Say,‘ He who scattered Israel will gather them. He will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’

Lions have roared. They have growled at you. They have destroyed your land. Your towns are burned and deserted.

So a lion from the forest will attack them. A wolf from the desert will destroy them. A leopard will hide and wait near their towns. It will tear to pieces anyone who dares to go out. Again and again they have refused to obey the Lord. They have turned away from him many times.

So pay attention, you nations. You are witnesses for me. Watch what will happen to my people.
