People of Jerusalem, wash your sins from your hearts and be saved. How long will you hold on to your evil thoughts?

O Jerusalem, wash your heart from evil, that you may be saved. How long shall your wicked thoughts lodge within you?

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts— murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”

“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.“ Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

and again,“ The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;

Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel?
