他虽然在芦苇中长得茂盛，但东风必要来到，耶和华的风要从旷野上来，他的水泉就干涸，他的泉源就枯竭。他所贮藏的一切珍贵器皿，都被掠夺去了。

我们众人都像不洁净的人，我们所有的义，都像污秽的衣服；我们众人都像叶子枯干，我们的罪孽好像风一般把我们吹去。

看哪！耶和华的旋风，在震怒中发出，是旋转的狂风，必卷到恶人的头上。

看哪！耶和华的旋风，在震怒中发出，是横扫的狂风，必卷到恶人的头上。耶和华的烈怒必不转消，直到他作成和实现他心中的计划。在末后的日子，你们就会明白这事。

听啊！我同胞（“同胞”原文作“人民的女子”）的呼救声，从遥远之地传来：“耶和华不在锡安吗？锡安的王不在其中吗？”“他们为什么以自己雕刻的偶像，和列国虚无的偶像，来惹我发怒呢？”

我的眼睛因流泪而失明，我的心肠激动，我的肝胆倾倒在地，都因我的子民（“我的子民”原文作“我子民的女子”）遭毁灭，孩童和婴儿在城里的街上昏倒。

耶和华这样说：“看哪！我必激动毁灭者的心，去攻击巴比伦和住在立加米的人。我必打发外族人去巴比伦簸扬它，扬净它的地；在它遭祸的日子，他们必从四围攻击它。

他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净麦场，把麦子收进仓里，却用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

野狗尚且用乳房哺养它们的幼儿；但我的众民变得多么残忍，像旷野的鸵鸟一样。

不，你只是渐渐地，藉着他们被掳与他们相争；在吹东风的日子，就用暴风把他们逐去。

你必簸扬它们，风要把它们吹去，旋风也要把它们吹散；但你要靠耶和华喜乐，以以色列的圣者夸耀。

因此，万军之耶和华这样说：“看哪！我要熬炼他们，试验他们；因我子民（“我子民”原文作“我子民的女子”）的罪恶，我还可以作什么呢？

他手里拿着簸箕，要扬净麦场，把麦子收进仓里，却用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

但这葡萄树因神的烈怒被拔起，摔在地上；东风使它的果子枯干散掉，粗壮的树枝枯槁，被火吞灭。

我的眼泪像江河流下，都因我的人民的灭亡。

我众民（“我众民”原文作“我子民的女子”）的罪孽比所多玛的罪恶更大；所多玛在转眼之间倾覆了，尽管无人攻击它。

因此，他们必像早晨的云雾，又如易逝的朝露，又像打谷场上的糠秕被旋风吹去，又像烟气从烟囱上腾。

慈心的妇人亲手烹煮自己所生的孩子；在我众民（“我众民”原文作“我子民的女子”）遭毁灭的时候，孩子竟成了母亲的食物。

因此我说：“要转开你们的眼，不要望着我，让我痛哭吧！不要因我人民的毁灭，而急急安慰我。”
