“ If you, Israel, will return, then return to me,” declares the Lord.“ If you put your detestable idols out of my sight and no longer go astray,

耶和华说：“以色列啊，你若回来归向我，若从我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，你就不被迁移。

耶和华说：“以色列啊，你若回转，回转归向我，若从我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，不再犹疑不定，

耶和华说：“以色列啊，你若回转，回转归向我，若从我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，不再犹疑不定，

耶和华说：“以色列啊，如果你回转归向我，回转归向我，从我眼前除掉可憎的神像，不再离开我；

“以色列啊！你要是回转，就当回转归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“如果你从我面前除掉你可憎的偶像，不到处浪荡；

耶和華說：以色列啊，你若回來歸向我，若從我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，你就不被遷移。

“以色列啊！你要是回轉，就當回轉歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“如果你從我面前除掉你可憎的偶像，不到處浪蕩；

永恆主發神諭說：『以色列啊，你若轉回，轉回來歸我吧！你若從我面前除掉你可憎之像，而不漫遊無拘，

耶和華曰、以色列歟、爾若返而歸我、若於我前屏爾可憎之物、則不被遷移、

耶和華曰、以色列族與、如爾歸誠、則可返爾故士、如爾棄可惡之物、則我不遷徙爾。

主曰、以色列歟、如爾歸誠於我、則爾必返故土、如於我前除爾可憎之事、則爾必不復流離、流離或作被遷徙

“ If you, Israel, will return,” announces the Lord,“ then return to me. Put the statues of your gods out of my sight. I hate them. Stop going astray.

“ If you return, O Israel, declares the Lord, to me you should return. If you remove your detestable things from my presence, and do not waver,

“ O Israel,” says the Lord,“ if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more.

If you return, Israel— this is the LORD’s declaration— you will return to me, if you remove your abhorrent idols from my presence and do not waver,

“ If you will return, Israel,” declares the Lord,“ Then you should return to Me. And if you will put away your detestable things from My presence, And will not waver,

“ If you will return, O Israel,” says the Lord,“ Return to Me; And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, Then you shall not be moved.

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith Jehovah, if thou wilt return unto me, and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight; then shalt thou not be removed;

If you return, Israel— this is the Lord’s declaration— you will return to Me, if you remove your detestable idols from My presence and do not waver,

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

“ If you, Israel, want to come back,” says the LORD,“ if you want to come back to me you must get those disgusting idols out of my sight and must no longer go astray.

“ If you will return, Israel,” says Yahweh,“ if you will return to me, and if you will put away your abominations out of my sight; then you will not be removed;

“ Even now,” declares the Lord,“ return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”

“ Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.”“ Yes, we will come to you, for you are the Lord our God.

“ If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him and marries another man, should he return to her again? Would not the land be completely defiled? But you have lived as a prostitute with many lovers— would you now return to me?” declares the Lord.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;to be made new in the attitude of your minds;and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.“ In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,and do not give the devil a foothold.Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him,“ Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes.

Return, you Israelites, to the One you have so greatly revolted against.

Go, proclaim this message toward the north:“‘ Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord,‘ I will frown on you no longer, for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord,‘ I will not be angry forever.

So Samuel said to all the Israelites,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths and commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

“ Rebuke your mother, rebuke her, for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her remove the adulterous look from her face and the unfaithfulness from between her breasts.

And I said to them,“ Each of you, get rid of the vile images you have set your eyes on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”“‘ But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt.

Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, circumcise your hearts, you people of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, or my wrath will flare up and burn like fire because of the evil you have done— burn with no one to quench it.

“ Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord,“ for I am your husband. I will choose you— one from a town and two from a clan— and bring you to Zion.

“ Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

I will not again make the feet of the Israelites leave the land I assigned to your ancestors, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them concerning all the laws, decrees and regulations given through Moses.”

“ They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols.

Return, Israel, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall!

They said,“ Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and your evil practices, and you can stay in the land the Lord gave to you and your ancestors for ever and ever.

He lends at interest and takes a profit. Will such a man live? He will not! Because he has done all these detestable things, he is to be put to death; his blood will be on his own head.

This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.For if you are careful to carry out these commands, then kings who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this palace, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and their people.But if you do not obey these commands, declares the Lord, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.’”

When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage. He removed the detestable idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the towns he had captured in the hills of Ephraim. He repaired the altar of the Lord that was in front of the portico of the Lord’s temple.

I will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth because of what Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem.

I will make them abhorrent and an offense to all the kingdoms of the earth, a reproach and a byword, a curse and an object of ridicule, wherever I banish them.

Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.”

The king also desecrated the high places that were east of Jerusalem on the south of the Hill of Corruption— the ones Solomon king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the vile goddess of the Sidonians, for Chemosh the vile god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the people of Ammon.

Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said,“ Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors.” But you have not paid attention or listened to me.

Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer.

Now let them put away from me their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings, and I will live among them forever.

They do not turn to the Most High; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent words. For this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt.

“ Cursed is anyone who makes an idol— a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands— and sets it up in secret.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”
