If you return, Israel— this is the LORD’s declaration— you will return to me, if you remove your abhorrent idols from my presence and do not waver,

耶和华说：“以色列啊，你若回来归向我，若从我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，你就不被迁移。

耶和华说：“以色列啊，如果你回转归向我，回转归向我，从我眼前除掉可憎的神像，不再离开我；

“以色列啊！你要是回转，就当回转归向我。”这是耶和华的宣告。“如果你从我面前除掉你可憎的偶像，不到处浪荡；

耶和華說：以色列啊，你若回來歸向我，若從我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像，你就不被遷移。

“以色列啊！你要是回轉，就當回轉歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“如果你從我面前除掉你可憎的偶像，不到處浪蕩；

永恆主發神諭說：『以色列啊，你若轉回，轉回來歸我吧！你若從我面前除掉你可憎之像，而不漫遊無拘，

耶和華曰、以色列歟、爾若返而歸我、若於我前屏爾可憎之物、則不被遷移、

耶和華曰、以色列族與、如爾歸誠、則可返爾故士、如爾棄可惡之物、則我不遷徙爾。

主曰、以色列歟、如爾歸誠於我、則爾必返故土、如於我前除爾可憎之事、則爾必不復流離、流離或作被遷徙

“ If you, Israel, will return, then return to me,” declares the Lord.“ If you put your detestable idols out of my sight and no longer go astray,

“ If you, Israel, will return,” announces the Lord,“ then return to me. Put the statues of your gods out of my sight. I hate them. Stop going astray.

“ If you return, O Israel, declares the Lord, to me you should return. If you remove your detestable things from my presence, and do not waver,

“ O Israel,” says the Lord,“ if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more.

“ If you will return, Israel,” declares the Lord,“ Then you should return to Me. And if you will put away your detestable things from My presence, And will not waver,

“ If you will return, O Israel,” says the Lord,“ Return to Me; And if you will put away your abominations out of My sight, Then you shall not be moved.

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith Jehovah, if thou wilt return unto me, and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight; then shalt thou not be removed;

If you return, Israel— this is the Lord’s declaration— you will return to Me, if you remove your detestable idols from My presence and do not waver,

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

“ If you, Israel, want to come back,” says the LORD,“ if you want to come back to me you must get those disgusting idols out of my sight and must no longer go astray.

“ If you will return, Israel,” says Yahweh,“ if you will return to me, and if you will put away your abominations out of my sight; then you will not be removed;

Even now— this is the LORD’s declaration— turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.

Return, you faithless children. I will heal your unfaithfulness.“ Here we are, coming to you, for you are the LORD our God.

If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him to marry another, can he ever return to her? Wouldn’t such a land become totally defiled? But you! You have prostituted yourself with many partners— can you return to me? This is the LORD’s declaration.

to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires,to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.Therefore, putting away lying, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another.Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger,and don’t give the devil an opportunity.Let the thief no longer steal. Instead, he is to do honest work with his own hands, so that he has something to share with anyone in need.No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.And don’t grieve God’s Holy Spirit. You were sealed by him for the day of redemption.Let all bitterness, anger and wrath, shouting and slander be removed from you, along with all malice.

So Jacob said to his family and all who were with him,“ Get rid of the foreign gods that are among you. Purify yourselves and change your clothes.

Return to the one the Israelites have greatly rebelled against.

Go, proclaim these words to the north, and say,‘ Return, unfaithful Israel. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will not look on you with anger, for I am unfailing in my love. This is the LORD’s declaration. I will not be angry forever.

Samuel told them,“ If you are returning to the LORD with all your heart, get rid of the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths that are among you, set your hearts on the LORD, and worship only him. Then he will rescue you from the Philistines.”

Rebuke your mother; rebuke her. For she is not my wife and I am not her husband. Let her remove the promiscuous look from her face and her adultery from between her breasts.

I also said to them,“ Throw away, each of you, the abhorrent things that you prize, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.”“‘ But they rebelled against me and were unwilling to listen to me. None of them threw away the abhorrent things that they prized, and they did not abandon the idols of Egypt. So I considered pouring out my wrath on them, exhausting my anger against them within the land of Egypt.

In addition, Josiah eradicated the mediums, the spiritists, household idols, images, and all the abhorrent things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah found in the LORD’s temple.

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD; remove the foreskin of your hearts, men of Judah and residents of Jerusalem. Otherwise, my wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of your evil deeds.

“‘ Return, you faithless children— this is the LORD’s declaration— for I am your master, and I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

“ Therefore, fear the LORD and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the LORD.

I will never again remove the feet of the Israelites from the land where I stationed your ancestors, if only they will be careful to do all I have commanded them through Moses— all the law, statutes, and judgments.”

“ When they arrive there, they will remove all its abhorrent acts and detestable practices from it.

Israel, return to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.

He announced,‘ Turn, each of you, from your evil way of life and from your evil deeds. Live in the land the LORD gave to you and your ancestors long ago and forever.

and lends at interest or for profit, will he live? He will not live! Since he has committed all these detestable acts, he will certainly die. His death will be his own fault.

This is what the LORD says: Administer justice and righteousness. Rescue the victim of robbery from his oppressor. Don’t exploit or brutalize the resident alien, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.For if you conscientiously carry out this word, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter through the gates of this palace riding on chariots and horses— they, their officers, and their people.But if you do not obey these words, then I swear by myself— this is the LORD’s declaration— that this house will become a ruin.’”

When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Azariah son of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the abhorrent idols from the whole land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. He renovated the altar of the LORD that was in front of the portico of the LORD’s temple.

I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah, the king of Judah, for what he did in Jerusalem.

I will make them an object of horror and a disaster to all the kingdoms of the earth, an example for disgrace, scorn, ridicule, and cursing, wherever I have banished them.

Perhaps when the house of Judah hears about all the disaster I am planning to bring on them, each one of them will turn from his evil way. Then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

The king also defiled the high places that were across from Jerusalem, to the south of the Mount of Destruction, which King Solomon of Israel had built for Ashtoreth, the abhorrent idol of the Sidonians; for Chemosh, the abhorrent idol of Moab; and for Milcom, the detestable idol of the Ammonites.

Time and time again I have sent you all my servants the prophets, proclaiming,“ Turn, each one from his evil way, and correct your actions. Stop following other gods to serve them. Live in the land that I gave you and your ancestors.” But you did not pay attention or obey me.

So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

Now let them remove their prostitution and the corpses of their kings far from me, and I will dwell among them forever.

They turn, but not to what is above; they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders will fall by the sword because of their insolent tongue. They will be ridiculed for this in the land of Egypt.

‘ The person who makes a carved idol or cast image, which is detestable to the LORD, the work of a craftsman, and sets it up in secret is cursed.’ And all the people will reply,‘ Amen!’
