Then the officials said to the king,“ This man should be put to death. He is discouraging the soldiers who are left in this city, as well as all the people, by the things he is saying to them. This man is not seeking the good of these people but their ruin.”

Then these officials said to the king,“ This man should be put to death. What he says is making the soldiers who are left in this city lose hope. It’s making all the people lose hope too. He isn’t interested in what is best for the people. In fact, he’s trying to destroy them.”

Then the officials said to the king,“ Let this man be put to death, for he is weakening the hands of the soldiers who are left in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking the welfare of this people, but their harm.”

So these officials went to the king and said,“ Sir, this man must die! That kind of talk will undermine the morale of the few fighting men we have left, as well as that of all the people. This man is a traitor!”

The officials then said to the king,“ This man ought to die, because he is weakening the morale of the warriors who remain in this city and of all the people by speaking to them in this way. This man is not pursuing the welfare of this people, but their harm.”

Then the officials said to the king,“ Please have this man put to death, since he is discouraging the men of war who are left in this city and all the people, by speaking words like these to them; for this man is not seeking the well being of this people, but rather their harm.”

Therefore the princes said to the king,“ Please, let this man be put to death, for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man does not seek the welfare of this people, but their harm.”

Then the princes said unto the king, Let this man, we pray thee, be put to death; forasmuch as he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

Then the princes said to the king,“ Please let this man be put to death; because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them: for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”

Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people,“ This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!” (niv)

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent a message to Jeroboam king of Israel:“ Amos is raising a conspiracy against you in the very heart of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words. (niv)

But we want to hear what your views are, for we know that people everywhere are talking against this sect.” (niv)

And they began to accuse him, saying,“ We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.” (niv)

When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words, the king was determined to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt.King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Akbor to Egypt, along with some other men.They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.) he went down to the secretary’s room in the royal palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Akbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.After Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read to the people from the scroll,all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to say to Baruch,“ Bring the scroll from which you have read to the people and come.” So Baruch son of Neriah went to them with the scroll in his hand.They said to him,“ Sit down, please, and read it to us.” So Baruch read it to them.When they heard all these words, they looked at each other in fear and said to Baruch,“ We must report all these words to the king.” (niv)
