爾當語之曰、我乃求王、勿使我復返約拿單之室、免死於彼、

爾可答之曰、我求王勿使我復入約拿單之室、恐死於彼。

可謂之曰、我求王勿使我歸約拿單之室、恐死於彼、

then tell them,‘ I was pleading with the king not to send me back to Jonathan’s house to die there.’”

then you shall say to them,‘ I presented my request before the king, that he would not make me return to Jonathan’s house to die there.’”

then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.

then you will tell them,‘ I was bringing before the king my petition that he not return me to the house of Jonathan to die there.’”

我主我王啊！現在求你垂聽，求你容我向你懇求！不要把我送回書記約拿單的房子去，免得我死在那裡。”

眾領袖都惱怒耶利米，就打他，並且把他關進監裡，就是在書記約拿單的房子裡，因為他們已把這房子改作監獄。

對耶利米先知說：“求你容我們向你懇求，請為我們這餘剩的民向耶和華你的神禱告；因為我們從前人數眾多，現在剩下的極少，就像你現在親眼所見的一樣。

末底改又把在書珊城頒布要毀滅猶大人的諭旨抄本，交給了哈他革，要他給以斯帖看，並且要給她說明，吩咐她進宮見王，向王求情，為自己的族人在王面前懇求。
