巴比倫王在利比拉當西底家眼前將他的眾兒子都宰殺掉；巴比倫王也宰殺了猶大所有顯貴的人，

但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的首領，這城就必交在迦勒底人手中；他們必放火燒城，你自己也不能逃脫他們的手。』

又在西底家眼前將他兒子們都宰殺掉，並將西底家一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他，帶到巴比倫去。

凡脫離刀劍的殘存者、迦勒底王都使他們流亡到巴比倫，去做他和他子孫的奴僕，直到波斯國執掌國政的時候。這是要成就永恆主的話、由耶利米口中說出來的、說：直到這地享滿了安息為止；因為儘這地荒涼的日子，這地總是守着安息，直守滿了七十年。

對猶大王西底家我也照這一切話告訴他說：『要把你們的脖子放在巴比倫王的軛下、去服事他和他的人民，以得存活。你和你人民為甚麼硬要由刀劍、饑荒、和瘟疫、去死亡，像永恆主論到那不服事巴比倫王的那種國所說的話呢？

我所看見的異象、好像他來毁滅那城時我所看見的異象；那些異象正如我在迦巴魯河邊所看見的異象一樣；我就臉伏於地。

神言人若被引誘說了一句話，是我永恆主讓那神言人被引誘的；我必伸手攻擊他，將他從我人民以色列中消滅掉。

迦勒底人的軍隊追趕了王，在耶利哥的原野把西底家追上；他的全軍都離開他潰散了。迦勒底人將王捉住，把他帶上哈馬地的利比拉巴比倫王那裏；巴比倫王就宣佈判語定他的罪。又在西底家眼前將他的兒子們都宰殺掉，也在利比拉宰殺了猶大所有的首領。並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他；巴比倫王將他帶到巴比倫去，給下在牢獄裏，直到他死的日子。五月十日、就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒王十九年、侍立在巴比倫王面前的護衛長尼布撒拉旦來到耶路撒冷。他把永恆主的殿和王的宮室都燒掉，也燒了耶路撒冷一切的房屋，連大幢的房屋都放火燒。
