以實瑪利還擄去了留在米斯巴的公主和其他人。護衛長尼布撒拉旦曾委任亞希甘的兒子基大利管理這些人。尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利帶著俘虜前往亞捫。

巴比倫王在利比拉當著西底迦的面殺了他的眾子和猶大所有的貴族，

但如果你不出去向巴比倫王的將領投降，這城必落在迦勒底人手裡，被付之一炬，你也逃不掉。』」

巴比倫王在西底迦面前殺了他的眾子，又剜去他的雙眼，把他用銅鏈鎖著押往巴比倫。

沒有被殺戮的人都被擄往巴比倫，做他和他子孫的奴隸，直到波斯帝國的時代。這就應驗了耶和華藉耶利米之口所說的話：這片土地享受了安息，它在荒涼中守安息，直到滿了七十年。

我照耶和華的吩咐對猶大王西底迦說：「你們要負巴比倫王的軛，臣服於他和他的人民，這樣你們就可存活。你和你的人民何必死於戰爭、饑荒和瘟疫呢？耶和華要降這些災難給不肯臣服於巴比倫王的國家。

這異象如同我從前在祂毀滅耶路撒冷時看見的異象，也像我在迦巴魯河邊看見的異象，我便俯伏在地。

如果先知受迷惑說預言，那是我耶和華任他胡作非為，我必伸手懲治他，把他從我的以色列百姓中除滅。

迦勒底的軍隊追趕西底迦，在耶利哥平原追上了他。他的軍隊都四散而逃。迦勒底人擒住西底迦，把他押到哈馬的利比拉去見巴比倫王。巴比倫王在那裡審判他，當著他的面殺了他的眾子和猶大所有的首領，又剜去他的雙眼，用銅鏈鎖著他押往巴比倫，將他終生囚在牢裡。巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒執政第十九年五月十日，他的臣僕——護衛長尼布撒拉旦進入耶路撒冷，放火焚燒耶和華的殿、王宮及城內所有的房屋。他燒毀了所有重要建築。
