耶和华如此说：“我必将犹大王西底家和他的众领袖，以及留在这地耶路撒冷剩余的人，并住在埃及地的犹大人都交出来，好像那极坏、坏得不能吃的无花果。我必使他们在地上万国中成为恐惧，成为灾祸，在我赶逐他们到的各处成为凌辱、笑柄、讥笑、诅咒的对象。我必使刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫临到他们，直到他们从我所赐给他们和他们祖先之地灭绝。”

因为犹大王西底家囚禁他，说：“你为什么预言耶和华如此说：‘看哪，我要把这城交在巴比伦王的手中，他必攻下这城。犹大王西底家必不能逃脱迦勒底人的手，定要交在巴比伦王手中，他要亲眼看到巴比伦王，亲口跟他说话。巴比伦王要将西底家带到巴比伦；西底家必住在那里，直到我惩罚他的时候。你们虽与迦勒底人争战，却不顺利。这是耶和华说的。’”

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑。迦勒底人正在四围攻城，王就往亚拉巴逃去。迦勒底的军队追赶王，在耶利哥的平原追上他；他的全军都离开他溃散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，带他到利比拉的巴比伦王那里；他们就判他的罪。他们在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女，挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，带到巴比伦去。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒十九年五月初七，巴比伦王的臣仆尼布撒拉旦护卫长进入耶路撒冷，他焚烧了耶和华的殿、王宫和耶路撒冷一切的房屋；用火焚烧所有大户人家的房屋。跟从护卫长的迦勒底全军拆毁了耶路撒冷四围的城墙。

巴比伦王以未‧米罗达作王的元年，就是犹大王约雅斤被掳后三十七年，十二月二十七日，他使犹大王约雅斤抬起头来，提他出监，对他说好话，使他的位高过与他一同被掳在巴比伦众王的位；又给他脱了囚服，使他终身常在巴比伦王面前吃饭。王赐给他日常需用的食物，每日一份，终身都是这样。

“人必将你的后妃和你的儿女带到迦勒底人那里；你也不得脱离他们的手，必被巴比伦王的手捉住，这城也必被火焚烧。”

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王园两城墙中间的门逃跑出城；迦勒底人正在四围攻城，他们就往亚拉巴逃去。迦勒底的军队追赶西底家王，在耶利哥的平原追上他。他的全军都离开他溃散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，带他到哈马地利比拉的巴比伦王那里；巴比伦王就判他的罪。巴比伦王在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女，又在利比拉杀了犹大全体的官长，并且挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，带到巴比伦去，将他囚在监里，直到他死的日子。

迦勒底人必再来攻打这城，并要攻下，用火焚烧。

“耶和华—以色列的神说，你去告诉犹大王西底家，耶和华如此说：看哪，我要把这城交在巴比伦王的手中，他必用火焚烧。你必不能逃脱他的手，定被拿住，交在他手中。你要亲眼看到巴比伦王，他要亲口跟你说话，你也必到巴比伦去。

犹大王约雅斤和他母亲、臣仆、王子、官员一同出来，向巴比伦王投降。巴比伦王俘掳了他，那时是巴比伦王第八年。

耶路撒冷被攻下的时候，巴比伦王的众官长，尼甲‧沙利薛、三甲‧尼波、撒西金将军、尼甲‧沙利薛将军，并巴比伦王其余的官长都来坐在中门。

我要把我的网撒在他身上，他就被我的罗网缠住。我要带他到巴比伦，在那里因他背叛我的罪惩罚他。所有逃跑的军队必倒在刀下；剩余的也必分散四方。你们就知道说这话的是我—耶和华。”

你这亵渎行恶的以色列王啊，你的日子，最后惩罚的时刻已来临。主耶和华如此说：当除掉荣冕，摘下华冠，景况已不复从前；要使卑者升为高，使高者降为卑。我要将这国倾覆，倾覆，再倾覆；这国必不存在，直等到那应得的人来到，我就将国赐给他。”

迦勒底的军队追赶他们，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，将他逮住，带到哈马地的利比拉、巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒那里；尼布甲尼撒就判他的罪。在利比拉，巴比伦王在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女；巴比伦王又杀了犹大所有的贵族，并且挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁住他，要带到巴比伦去。

我要把我的网撒在他身上，他就被我的罗网缠住。我要带他到迦勒底人之地的巴比伦；他没有看见那地，就死在那里。

犹大的领袖、耶路撒冷的领袖、官员、祭司，和从牛犊切块中经过的这地的众百姓，我必将他们交在仇敌和寻索其命的人手中；他们的尸首必给空中的飞鸟和地上的走兽作食物。我必将犹大王西底家和他的众领袖交在仇敌和寻索其命的人手中，与那暂时离你们而去的巴比伦王军队的手中。看哪，我要吩咐他们回到这城，攻打这城，将城攻取，用火焚烧；我也要使犹大的城镇变为废墟，无人居住。这是耶和华说的。”
