Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jehukal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malkijah heard what Jeremiah was telling all the people when he said,

Shephatiah, Gedaliah, Jehukal and Pashhur heard what Jeremiah was telling all the people. Shephatiah was the son of Mattan. Gedaliah was the son of Pashhur. Jehukal was the son of Shelemiah. And Pashhur was the son of Malkijah. These four men heard Jeremiah say,

Now Shephatiah the son of Mattan, Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchiah heard the words that Jeremiah was saying to all the people:

Now Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malkijah heard what Jeremiah had been telling the people. He had been saying,

Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

Now Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malkijah had heard the things that Jeremiah had been telling the people. They had heard him say,

Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah, heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,

示法提雅的子孫三百七十二人。

又有瑪基雅的曾孫、巴施戶珥的孫子、耶羅罕的兒子亞大雅，以及亞第業的兒子瑪賽；亞第業是雅希細拉的兒子，雅希細拉是米書蘭的兒子，米書蘭是米實利密的兒子，米實利密是音麥的兒子；

“我們嚴厲地吩咐過你們，不准再奉這名教導。看，你們卻把你們的道理傳遍了耶路撒冷，想要把流這人的血的責任推到我們身上。”

耶和華有話臨到耶利米。那時，西底家王差遣瑪基雅的兒子巴施戶珥，和瑪西雅的兒子西番雅祭司去見耶利米，說：“請你替我們求問耶和華，因為巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻擊我們；也許耶和華會為我們行奇事，使尼布甲尼撒離開我們回去。”耶利米就對他們說：“你們要對西底家這樣說：‘耶和華以色列的神這樣說：看哪！我必使你們手中的武器，就是你們用來與城外圍困你們的巴比倫王和迦勒底人作戰的武器，轉回堆積在這城的中心。我必在怒氣、烈怒和忿怒中，用伸出來的手和強有力的膀臂，親自攻擊你們。我要擊打住在這城的人和牲畜，他們都要因極大的瘟疫而死。然後，我必把猶大王西底家和他的臣民，就是在這城裡經過瘟疫、刀劍之災和饑荒而倖存的人，都交在巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒和他們的仇敵，以及尋索他們性命的人的手中。尼布甲尼撒要用刀劍擊殺他們，絕不顧惜，不留情，不憐憫。’”這是耶和華的宣告。耶和華又吩咐耶利米：“你要對這人民說：‘耶和華這樣說：看哪！我把生命的路和死亡的路擺在你們面前。凡留在這城裡的，必因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死；但出去向圍困你們的迦勒底人投降的，必可以活著，撿回自己的性命。因為我已經決意向這城降禍不降福；這城必交在巴比倫王的手中，他必放火把城燒毀。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

巴錄的子孫二千一百七十二人；

還有大祭司亞那和該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大，以及大祭司的家人，所有的人都在那裡。他們叫使徒都站在當中，查問說：“你們憑甚麼能力，奉誰的名作這事？”當時彼得被聖靈充滿，對他們說：“民眾的領袖和長老啊！我們今天受審，如果是為了在那殘疾人身上所行的善事，就是這個人怎麼會好的，那麼，你們各位和以色列全民都應當知道，站在你們面前這人好了，是因拿撒勒人耶穌基督的名。這位耶穌基督，你們把他釘死在十字架上，神卻使他從死人中復活。

西底家王差派示利米雅的兒子猶甲和瑪西雅祭司的兒子西番雅，去見耶利米先知，說：“請你為我們向耶和華我們的神禱告。”那時，耶利米還可以在民眾中間自由行動，因為他們還沒有把他關進監獄裡。

使徒們正對群眾講話的時候，祭司、聖殿的守衛長，和撒都該人來到他們那裡。因為使徒教訓群眾，並且傳揚耶穌從死人中復活，他們就非常惱怒，

還有他們的親族，在殿裡工作事奉的，共八百二十二人；又有耶羅罕的兒子亞大雅；耶羅罕是毘拉利的兒子，毘拉利是暗洗的兒子，暗洗是撒迦利亞的兒子，撒迦利亞是巴施戶珥的兒子，巴施戶珥是瑪基雅的兒子；
