“ Thus says the Lord, God of Israel: Thus shall you say to the king of Judah who sent you to me to inquire of me,‘ Behold, Pharaoh’s army that came to help you is about to return to Egypt, to its own land.

“耶和华以色列的神如此说：犹大王打发你们来求问我，你们要如此对他说：‘那出来帮助你们法老的军队必回埃及本国去。

“耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：你们要对派你们来求问我的犹大王如此说：‘看哪，那出来帮助你们的法老军队必回埃及本国去。

「這是以色列的上帝耶和華的話，『猶大王派你們來求問我，你們告訴他，前來支援你們的法老軍隊必中途返回埃及，

『永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：猶大王打發了你們來求問我，你們要對他這麼說：「看吧，法老的軍隊、那出來幫助你們的，必回埃及它本地去。

以色列之上帝耶和華云、其告遣爾問我之猶大王曰、法老之軍旅出以助爾、必返埃及、入其故土、

以色列族之上帝耶和華云、猶大王既遣爾、諮諏於我、爾當告之曰、法老之軍旅、雖來輔翼、終歸埃及、

主以色列之天主如是云、猶大王遣爾曹來、求問於我、爾曹當如是告之曰、法老之軍旅、出以助爾、必歸其地伊及、

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of me,‘ Pharaoh’s army, which has marched out to support you, will go back to its own land, to Egypt.

The Lord is the God of Israel. He says,“ The king of Judah has sent you to ask me for advice. Tell him,‘ Pharaoh’s army has marched out to help you. But it will go back to its own land. It will return to Egypt.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: The king of Judah sent you to ask me what is going to happen. Tell him,‘ Pharaoh’s army is about to return to Egypt, though he came here to help you.

“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: This is what you will say to Judah’s king, who is sending you to inquire of me:‘ Watch: Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ This is what you are to say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ Thus you shall say to the king of Judah, who sent you to Me to inquire of Me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army which has come up to help you will return to Egypt, to their own land.

Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: This is what you will say to Judah’s king, who is sending you to inquire of Me: Watch: Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, is going to return to its own land of Egypt.

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.

“ The LORD God of Israel says,‘ Give a message to the king of Judah who sent you to ask me to help him. Tell him,“ The army of Pharaoh that was on its way to help you will go back home to Egypt.

“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ You shall tell the king of Judah, who sent you to me to inquire of me:“ Behold, Pharaoh’s army, which has come out to help you, will return to Egypt into their own land.

Our eyes failed, ever watching vainly for help; in our watching we watched for a nation which could not save.

But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Regarding the words that you have heard,

“ Inquire of the Lord for us, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war against us. Perhaps the Lord will deal with us according to all his wonderful deeds and will make him withdraw from us.”

King Zedekiah sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah, to Jeremiah the prophet, saying,“ Please pray for us to the Lord our God.”

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!And yet he is wise and brings disaster; he does not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.The Egyptians are man, and not God, and their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall, and they will all perish together.

Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, when mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.

Thus says the Lord:“ Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

How much you go about, changing your way! You shall be put to shame by Egypt as you were put to shame by Assyria.

Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord.“ Because you have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel,when they grasped you with the hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders; and when they leaned on you, you broke and made all their loins to shake.

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord.

“ Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord,“ who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation.For though his officials are at Zoan and his envoys reach Hanes,everyone comes to shame through a people that cannot profit them, that brings neither help nor profit, but shame and disgrace.”An oracle on the beasts of the Negeb. Through a land of trouble and anguish, from where come the lioness and the lion, the adder and the flying fiery serpent, they carry their riches on the backs of donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that cannot profit them.

And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.”
