So Jeremiah abode in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken. And it came to pass when Jerusalem was taken

So they drew up Jeremiah with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.

Now at that time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah’s house.

In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

And he abode two whole years in his own hired dwelling, and received all that went in unto him,

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; Pour out thy heart like water before the face of the Lord: Lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger at the head of every street.See, O Jehovah, and behold to whom thou hast done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

The king’s heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever he will.

And when we entered into Rome, Paul was suffered to abide by himself with the soldier that guarded him.

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.So he went and did according unto the word of Jehovah; for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

So Hanamel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of Jehovah, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of Jehovah.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured upon the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.They say to their mothers, Where is grain and wine? When they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, When their soul is poured out into their mothers’ bosom.

wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.

They that are slain with the sword are better than they that are slain with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for want of the fruits of the field.The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children; They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

When a man’s ways please Jehovah, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.

And they shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land; and they shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee.And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, whom Jehovah thy God hath given thee, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee.The man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children whom he hath remaining;so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat, because he hath nothing left him, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in all thy gates.The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,and toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children whom she shall bear; for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

Our skin is black like an oven, Because of the burning heat of famine.

they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home. So he dwelt among the people.Now the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,

Oh fear Jehovah, ye his saints; For there is no want to them that fear him.The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; But they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good thing.
