But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord that he spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

秉權者聽誑言、其臣僕必皆邪惡、

行惡於主前、先知耶利米以主命勸之、彼仍不自卑、尼布甲尼撒王使其指天主而誓、必永臣服、乃叛之、強項不馴、剛愎厥心、不歸主以色列之天主、諸祭司長與民眾亦多犯罪、效異邦人可憎之事、在耶路撒冷主之殿、主所別為聖者、彼反污之、主其列祖之天主因憐其民、惜其居所、日日日日原文作每晨遣使者訓誨之、彼訕笑天主之使者、藐視其言、侮辱侮辱或作譏諷其先知、故主震怒其民、不復援之、

遣先知拿單賜之名耶底底亞、耶底底亞即見愛於主之義因見愛於主故、○

以色列人眾葬之、為之哀哭、應主藉其僕先知亞希雅所言、

摩西曰、求我主遣所可遣之人、

於是亞倫與其諸子、遵主託摩西所命諸事而行、

我屢諭先知、多賜默示、藉諸先知設譬、以教斯民、

主藉哈拿尼子先知耶戶、切責巴沙與其家、因其行惡於主前、從耶羅波安家之所為、干犯主怒、又因其殺戮耶羅波安之家、○

大衛曰、昔哈嫩父拿轄曾厚待我、今我必厚待哈嫩、於是大衛遣臣僕往哈嫩所、唁其父喪、大衛臣僕至亞捫人之地、

以事託愚人、必致受害、猶如自斷其足、

惟爾以色列之君、褻慢作惡、爾之罪愆貫盈、受報之日已至、

故凡拒者、非拒人、乃拒天主、即以其聖神賜我儕者、○
