Jeremiah answered,“ That’s a lie! I am not deserting to the Babylonians.” But Irijah would not listen to him. Irijah put Jeremiah under arrest and took him to the officials.

耶利米说：“你这是谎话，我并不是投降迦勒底人。”伊利雅不听他的话，就拿住他，解到首领那里。

耶利米说：“你这是谎话，我并不是去投降迦勒底人。”伊利雅不听耶利米的话，就逮捕他，把他带到官长那里。

耶利米说：“你这是谎话，我并不是去投降迦勒底人。”伊利雅不听耶利米的话，就逮捕他，把他带到官长那里。

耶利米说：“不，我不是去投奔迦勒底人。”但伊利雅不信，把他押到众官长那里。

耶利米说：“这是谎话！我并不是去投降迦勒底人。”但伊利雅不听他，仍拿住他，把他带到众领袖那里。

耶利米曰、妄哉、我不降迦勒底人、伊利雅弗聽、執耶利米、解至牧伯、

耶利米曰、否、否、迦勒底人、我安肯降之。以哩雅不聽、仍執耶利米、解至牧伯、

耶利米曰、非也、我不欲降迦勒底人、伊利雅不聽、仍執耶利米、解至侯伯前、

“ That’s not true!” Jeremiah said.“ I am not deserting to the Babylonians.” But Irijah would not listen to him; instead, he arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.

Jeremiah said to Irijah,“ That isn’t true! I’m not going to the side of the Babylonians.” But Irijah wouldn’t listen to him. Instead, he arrested Jeremiah. He brought Jeremiah to the officials.

And Jeremiah said,“ It is a lie; I am not deserting to the Chaldeans.” But Irijah would not listen to him, and seized Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.

“ That’s not true!” Jeremiah protested.“ I had no intention of doing any such thing.” But Irijah wouldn’t listen, and he took Jeremiah before the officials.

“ That’s a lie,” Jeremiah replied.“ I am not defecting to the Chaldeans!” Irijah would not listen to him but apprehended Jeremiah and took him to the officials.

But Jeremiah said,“ A lie! I am not deserting to the Chaldeans”; yet he would not listen to him. So Irijah arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.

Then Jeremiah said,“ False! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans.” But he did not listen to him. So Irijah seized Jeremiah and brought him to the princes.

Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I am not falling away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him; so Irijah laid hold on Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

“ That’s a lie,” Jeremiah replied.“ I am not deserting to the Chaldeans!” Irijah would not listen to him but apprehended Jeremiah and took him to the officials.

Then said Jeremiah,[ It is] false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

Then Jeremiah said,“ That is false! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans.” But he didn’t listen to him; so Irijah seized Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

Why do you boast about your evil plans, O powerful man? God’s loyal love protects me all day long!Your tongue carries out your destructive plans; it is as effective as a sharp razor, O deceiver.

But now, Jeremiah, today I will set you free from the chains on your wrists. If you would like to come to Babylon with me, come along and I will take care of you. But if you prefer not to come to Babylon with me, you are not required to do so. You are free to go anywhere in the land you want to go. Go wherever you choose.”Before Jeremiah could turn to leave, the captain of the guard added,“ Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed to govern the towns of Judah. Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose.” Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah and lived there with him. He stayed there to live among the people who had been left in the land of Judah.

Do not turn me over to my enemies, for false witnesses who want to destroy me testify against me.

“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely on account of me.Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you.But let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or criminal or as a troublemaker.But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear such a name.

“ Woe to you when all people speak well of you, for their ancestors did the same things to the false prophets.

Violent men perjure themselves, and falsely accuse me.

Yet do it with courtesy and respect, keeping a good conscience, so that those who slander your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame when they accuse you.

I sent word back to him,“ We are not engaged in these activities you are describing. All of this is a figment of your imagination.”

“ Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject you as evil on account of the Son of Man!Rejoice in that day, and jump for joy, because your reward is great in heaven. For their ancestors did the same things to the prophets.
