Even if you were to defeat the entire Babylonian army that is attacking you and only wounded men were left in their tents, they would come out and burn this city down.”

Suppose you destroy all the armies of Babylon that are attacking you. Suppose only wounded men are left in their tents. Even then they will come out and burn down this city.’ ”

For even if you should defeat the whole army of Chaldeans who are fighting against you, and there remained of them only wounded men, every man in his tent, they would rise up and burn this city with fire.’”

Even if you were to destroy the entire Babylonian army, leaving only a handful of wounded survivors, they would still stagger from their tents and burn this city to the ground!”

Indeed, if you were to strike down the entire Chaldean army that is fighting with you, and there remained among them only the badly wounded men, each in his tent, they would get up and burn this city.’”

至于你们幸存的人，我要使他们在敌人之地心中惊慌，甚至风吹落叶的声音也把他们吓跑。他们要逃避，像人逃避刀剑，虽无人追赶，却要跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却要彼此绊倒，像逃避刀剑一样。你们在仇敌面前必站立不住。你们要在列国中灭亡，敌人之地要吞灭你们，

一人叱喝，令千人逃跑，五人叱喝，你们都逃跑；以致剩下的如山顶的旗杆，如山冈上的大旗。

惟独你被抛弃在你的坟墓之外，有如被厌恶的枝子，被许多用刀刺透杀死的人覆盖着，一同坠落地府的石头那里，像被践踏的尸首。

‘耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：看哪，我要使你们手中的兵器，就是你们与城外围困你们的巴比伦王和迦勒底人打仗所用的兵器转回来，把它们聚集在这城中。我要在怒气、愤怒和大恼怒中，用伸出来的手和大能的膀臂，亲自攻击你们；又要击打这城的居民，他们连人带牲畜都必遭遇大瘟疫而死亡。以后，我要将犹大王西底家和他的臣仆百姓，就是在城内，从瘟疫、刀剑、饥荒中幸存的人，都交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒手中，交在仇敌和寻索其命的人手中。巴比伦王必用刀击杀他们，不顾惜，不同情，不怜悯。这是耶和华说的。’

迦勒底人必再来攻打这城，并要攻下，用火焚烧。

你们要听耶和华攻击巴比伦所定的计划和他攻击迦勒底人之地所定的旨意。他们羊群当中微弱的定要被拖走，他们的草场定要变为荒凉。

他们只得屈身在被掳的人之下，仆倒在被杀的人中间。虽然如此，耶和华的怒气并未转消；他的手依然伸出。

耶和华在他的军旅前出声，他的队伍庞大，遵行他命令的强盛。耶和华的日子大而可畏，谁能当得起呢？

凡被追上的必被刺死，凡被捉拿的必倒在刀下。

你们要听耶和华攻击以东所定的计划和他攻击提幔居民所定的旨意。他们羊群当中微弱的定要被拖走，他们的草场定要变为荒凉。

他们必在迦勒底人之地被杀仆倒，在巴比伦的街市上被刺透。
