Even if you were to defeat the entire Babylonian army that is attacking you and only wounded men were left in their tents, they would come out and burn this city down.”

至于你们剩下的人，我必使他们在仇敌之地胆战心惊；风吹落叶也会吓跑他们；他们必逃跑，好像逃避刀剑一样；虽然无人追赶，他们却跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却像面临刀剑，彼此撞跌；你们在仇敌面前，不能站立得住。你们要在万国中灭亡；仇敌之地必吞灭你们。

一个敌人就可以威吓你们一千个人，若五个敌人威吓你们，你们都要逃跑了！以致你们所剩下的，必孤立如同山顶上的旗杆，冈陵上的旗帜。

但你要从你的坟墓中被逐出，好像一根被厌弃的树枝，你被那些遭刀剑所杀的人掩盖，就是那些被抛到坑中石头那里的人。你就像一具遭人践踏的尸体。

‘耶和华以色列的神这样说：看哪！我必使你们手中的武器，就是你们用来与城外围困你们的巴比伦王和迦勒底人作战的武器，转回堆积在这城的中心。我必在怒气、烈怒和忿怒中，用伸出来的手和强有力的膀臂，亲自攻击你们。我要击打住在这城的人和牲畜，他们都要因极大的瘟疫而死。然后，我必把犹大王西底家和他的臣民，就是在这城里经过瘟疫、刀剑之灾和饥荒而幸存的人，都交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和他们的仇敌，以及寻索他们性命的人的手中。尼布甲尼撒要用刀剑击杀他们，绝不顾惜，不留情，不怜悯。’”这是耶和华的宣告。

迦勒底人必回来，攻击这城，占领这城，放火烧毁这城。’

因此，你们要听耶和华筹谋对付巴比伦的计划，和他为了攻击迦勒底人的地所定下的策略。他们羊群中最小的也必被拉去，他们的牧场也必因临到它们的灾祸而荒废。

你们只能屈身在被掳的人中间，或是仆倒在被杀的人中间。虽然这样，耶和华的怒气还没有转消，他的手仍然伸出。

耶和华在他的军队前头发出声音；他的队伍极大，成就他话语的，是强盛的人。耶和华的日子伟大，非常可畏，谁能忍受得住呢？

凡被追上的，必被刺死；凡被捉住的，必倒在刀下。

因此，你们要听耶和华筹谋对付以东的计划，和他为了提幔的居民所定下的策略。他们羊群中最小的也必被拉去，他们的牧场也必因临到它们的灾祸而荒废。

它的全军必在迦勒底人的地被杀倒下，在它的街道上被刺死。”
