他們一人叱喝，必嚇得你們千人逃跑；他們五人叱喝，你們必全部逃跑，以致餘剩的人少得像山頂上的旗杆、高崗上的旗幟。」

只有你像一根毫無用處的樹枝，被拋棄在自己的墳墓外。你就像一具遭人踐踏的屍體，與喪身刀下的人一同被扔進亂石坑裡。

以色列的上帝耶和華說，『看啊，你們與圍城的巴比倫王及其率領的迦勒底人作戰，我要把你們的兵器掉轉過來，我要把它們收集在城中心。我要在烈怒中伸出大能的臂膀下手擊打你們，我要擊打這城裡的居民和牲畜，使他們死於瘟疫。然後，我要把猶大王西底迦及其臣僕以及城中逃過瘟疫、戰爭和饑荒的人都交給巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒等仇敵，使他們落在想殺滅他們的人手中。巴比倫王必殘酷無情地殺戮他們。這是耶和華說的。』

而迦勒底人必捲土重來，攻佔這城，將它付之一炬。

因此，你們要聽聽耶和華攻擊巴比倫的策略，聽聽祂攻擊迦勒底人的計劃。他們的孩子要被拖走，他們的家園要被毀滅。

你們將不是被擄就是被殺。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還沒有止息，祂降罰的手沒有收回。

耶和華向祂的軍隊發號施令，祂的隊伍不計其數，執行祂命令的是一支勁旅。耶和華的日子偉大而可畏，誰能承受得住呢？

被捉住的人都會被刺死，被逮住的人都會喪身刀下。

因此，你們要聽聽耶和華攻擊以東的策略，聽聽祂攻擊提幔居民的計劃。他們的孩子要被拖走，他們的家園要被毀滅。

他們將被刀劍刺透，倒斃在自己的土地上，橫屍街頭。
