so you must go and read from the scroll— which you wrote at my dictation— the words of the LORD in the hearing of the people at the temple of the LORD on a day of fasting. Read his words in the hearing of all the Judeans who are coming from their cities.

爾往、以我口所傳、爾所書於卷之耶和華言、在耶和華室、於禁食之期誦之、俾民聞之、亦使自猶大諸邑而來之人聞之、

禁食之日、猶大國人自眾邑、詣耶和華殿、爾當以我所傳耶和華之命、書之於卷者、誦於民前。

禁食之日、民詣主之殿、爾往以爾循我口傳所書於卷之主言、讀於耶路撒冷民前、亦讀於自各邑詣主殿之猶大人前、

So you go to the house of the Lord on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the Lord that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

So you go there. Go on a day when the people are fasting. Read to them from the scroll. Read the words of the Lord you wrote down as I gave them to you. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

so you are to go, and on a day of fasting in the hearing of all the people in the Lord’s house you shall read the words of the Lord from the scroll that you have written at my dictation. You shall read them also in the hearing of all the men of Judah who come out of their cities.

So you go to the Temple on the next day of fasting, and read the messages from the Lord that I have had you write on this scroll. Read them so the people who are there from all over Judah will hear them.

So you go and read from the scroll, which you have written at my dictation, the words of the Lord to the people at the Lord’s house on a day of fasting. And you shall also read them to all the people of Judah who come from their cities.

You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the LORD’s house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.

therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in Jehovah’s house upon the fast- day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

so you must go and read from the scroll— which you wrote at my dictation— the words of the Lord in the hearing of the people at the temple of the Lord on a day of fasting. You must also read them in the hearing of all the Judeans who are coming from their cities.

Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’S house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

So you go there the next time all the people of Judah come in from their towns to fast in the LORD’s temple. Read out loud where all of them can hear you what I told you the LORD said, which you wrote in the scroll.

Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

So Baruch son of Neriah did everything the prophet Jeremiah had commanded him. At the LORD’s temple he read the LORD’s words from the scroll.In the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, all the people of Jerusalem and all those coming in from Judah’s cities into Jerusalem proclaimed a fast before the LORD.

He said to me,“ Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to the rebellious pagans who have rebelled against me. The Israelites and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this day.The descendants are obstinate and hardhearted. I am sending you to them, and you must say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says.’Whether they listen or refuse to listen— for they are a rebellious house— they will know that a prophet has been among them.“ But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their words, even though briers and thorns are beside you and you live among scorpions. Don’t be afraid of their words or discouraged by the look on their faces, for they are a rebellious house.Speak my words to them whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.

By now much time had passed, and the voyage was already dangerous. Since the Day of Atonement was already over, Paul gave his advice

Jeremiah returned from Topheth, where the LORD had sent him to prophesy, stood in the courtyard of the LORD’s temple, and proclaimed to all the people,

“ This is to be a permanent statute for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month you are to practice self-denial and do no work, both the native and the alien who resides among you.Atonement will be made for you on this day to cleanse you, and you will be clean from all your sins before the LORD.It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial; it is a permanent statute.

You are to say,‘ Hear the word of the LORD, king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David— you, your officers, and your people who enter these gates.

So now, say to the men of Judah and to the residents of Jerusalem,‘ This is what the LORD says: Look, I am about to bring harm to you and make plans against you. Turn now, each from your evil way, and correct your ways and your deeds.’

“ The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You are to hold a sacred assembly and practice self-denial; you are to present a food offering to the LORD.On this particular day you are not to do any work, for it is a Day of Atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the LORD your God.If any person does not practice self-denial on this particular day, he is to be cut off from his people.I will destroy among his people anyone who does any work on this same day.You are not to do any work. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations wherever you live.It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening.”

“ Stand in the gate of the house of the LORD and there call out this word:‘ Hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah who enter through these gates to worship the LORD.

“ This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD’s temple and speak all the words I have commanded you to speak to all Judah’s cities that are coming to worship there. Do not hold back a word.
