Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

Jehudi read three or four sections from the scroll. Then the king cut them off with a secretary’s knife. He threw them into the fire pot. He did that until the entire scroll was burned up in the fire.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot.

以色列王曰、尚有一人、音拉子米該亞、可以之諮諏耶和華。然我嘗憾其人、因彼所預言、有凶而無吉。約沙法曰、王毋言是。

爾曹侮慢、為耶路撒冷之民牧者、宜聽耶和華之言、爾曹自謂與死亡結約、與陰府訂盟、天降大雨、行潦汎濫、必不及於斯土、我惟誑詞是恃、而適以自欺。

棄道者取敗亡、畏命者贋賞賚。

不受我教、藐視我道、

人行惡而取戾、若以索曳車、其有禍乎、彼曰、願以色列族之聖主、速行其旨、俾我見而知之焉、

告之曰、王命拘幽此人、供餅給水、使嘗艱苦、迨我安歸。

耶和華有定命、人縱多謀、亦無裨也。

耶和華有旨必行、非詭謀所能撓。

既聞此詛言、猶心內自慰曰、我渴己止、我飲愈多、從心所欲、亦可獲安、若此者耶和華必不赦宥、其怒甚烈、以致中心如焚、氣如煙燄、必攻此人、以書所載之詛、加乎其身、塗抹其名於天下、在以色列諸支派中、耶和華必區別之、加以譴責、循此書所載之詛言。

我秉公義、以法則為準繩、使降大雹、行潦汎濫、翦滅逋逃之藪、以去爾所恃、則爾與死亡所結之約不固、陰府所訂之盟弗堅、行潦淹於斯土、爾其淪亡、行潦汎濫、橫溢四境、斯難頻至、危在旦夕、爾眾盡為所淹、聞風而驚駭不已。諺云、床榻甚短、不能暢其四肢、衾裯甚狹、不能蔽其全體、耶和華勃興、赫然震怒、與在比哩心山基遍谷、無以異也、惟降災於選民、實所罕有、爾曹勿復侮慢、恐爾之縲絏加嚴、我聞萬有之主耶和華、已定厥命、將殲滅斯境矣。

惡訓言而不守、棄我道其如遺兮、

如以此書預言而删削之者、上帝亦必刪削其名、使不載於生命册、擯之聖邑外、書中所錄之福、不得享、

曰、我不受教、藐視箴規、

奏猶大王約雅金曰、耶和華云、卷中有言巴比倫王必至、翦滅斯國、人民野獸、不得安居、爾不悅斯言、火焚其卷、故耶和華論猶大王約雅金云、雖有後嗣、不得繼大闢之位、棄尸於外、晝暴之、夜寒之。我必罰其罪、爰及子孫、臣僕、昔予有言、欲降災於耶路撒冷居民、猶大國人、而彼弗顧、今必使災速至。

屢受譴責、仍強厥項、必致敗亡、援手無人。
