Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

Jehudi read three or four sections from the scroll. Then the king cut them off with a secretary’s knife. He threw them into the fire pot. He did that until the entire scroll was burned up in the fire.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot.

以色列王对约沙法说：“还有一个人，是音拉的儿子米该雅，我们可以托他求问耶和华。只是我真的很恨他，因为他对我说预言，从不说吉言，总是说凶信。”约沙法说：“请王不要这么说。”

因此，你们这些傲慢的人，就是管辖住耶路撒冷这百姓的，要听耶和华的话。你们曾说：“我们已与死亡立约，与阴间结盟，不可挡的鞭子挥过时，必不临到我们；因我们以谎言为避难所，靠虚假来藏身”；

藐视训言的，自取灭亡；敬畏诫命的，必得善报。

不听我的劝戒，藐视我一切的责备，

祸哉！那些以虚假的绳子牵引罪孽，以套车的绳索紧拉罪恶的人。他们说：“任以色列的圣者急速前行，快快成就他的作为，好让我们看看；任他的筹算临近成就，好使我们知道。”

你们要说：‘王如此说，把这个人关在监狱里，使他受苦，吃不饱喝不足，直等到我平安回来。’”

人心多有计谋；惟有耶和华的筹算才能成就。

没有人能以智慧、聪明、谋略抵挡耶和华。

这样的人听见这诅咒的话，心里还庆幸，说：‘我虽然随着顽固的心行事，却还是平安无事。’以致有水的和无水的都消灭了。耶和华必不愿饶恕他；耶和华的怒气与妒忌必向他如烟冒出，将这书上所写的一切诅咒都加在他身上，耶和华也要从天下涂去他的名。耶和华又必照着写在律法书上，约中的一切诅咒，将他从以色列众支派中分别出来，使他遭受祸害。

我以公平为准绳，以公义为铅垂线；冰雹必冲去谎言的避难所，大水必漫过藏身之处。你们与死亡所立的约必废除，与阴间所结的盟不得坚立；不可挡的鞭子挥过时，你们必被践踏。每逢它挥来，必将你们掳去；每早晨它必挥过，白昼黑夜都是如此。明白这信息的都必惊恐。”床榻短，人不能伸展；被子窄，人无从裹身。耶和华必兴起，像在毗拉心山，他必发怒，如在基遍谷；为要做成他的工，就是非常的工，成就他的事，就是奇异的事。现在你们不可傲慢，免得捆绑你们的绳索更结实，因为我从万军之主耶和华那里听见，在全地施行灭绝的事已定。

其实你恨恶管教，将我的言语抛在脑后。

这书上的预言，若有人删去什么，上帝必从这书上所记的生命树和圣城删去他的份。

说：“我为何恨恶管教，心里轻看责备呢？

论到犹大王约雅敬你要说，耶和华如此说：你烧了这书卷，说：‘你为什么在上面写着，巴比伦王必要来毁灭这地，使这地绝了人民和牲畜呢？’所以耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬说：他后裔中必没有人坐在大卫的宝座上；他的尸首必被抛弃，白天受炎热，黑夜受寒霜。我必因他和他后裔，并他臣仆的罪孽惩罚他们。我要使我所说的一切灾祸临到他们和耶路撒冷的居民，并犹大人；只是他们不肯听从。”

人屡次受责罚，仍然硬着颈项，他必顷刻被毁，无从医治。
