Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

Jehudi read three or four sections from the scroll. Then the king cut them off with a secretary’s knife. He threw them into the fire pot. He did that until the entire scroll was burned up in the fire.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a knife and throw them into the fire in the fire pot, until the entire scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the fire pot.

Each time Jehudi finished reading three or four columns, the king took a knife and cut off that section of the scroll. He then threw it into the fire, section by section, until the whole scroll was burned up.

以色列王對約沙法說：“還有一個人，我們可以託他求問耶和華。不過我憎恨他，因為他對我說的預言，都是凶話，不是吉話。這人就是音拉的兒子米該雅。”但約沙法說：“請王不要這麼說。”

因此好譏笑人的人哪！就是管轄這些在耶路撒冷的人民的，你們要聽耶和華的話。因為你們曾說：“我們與死亡立了約，與陰間結了盟；刑罰的鞭子掃過的時候，必不會碰到我們，因為我們以謊言作遮蔽，以虛假作庇護。”

藐視訓言的，必自取滅亡；敬畏誡命的，必得善報。

不接受我的勸告，輕視我的一切責備；

那些人虛假的繩索牽引罪孽，又像用車繩拉罪惡的人，有禍了！他們說：“願他趕快、迅速地成就他的作為，給我們看看！願以色列的聖者所計劃的臨近！願它來到，好讓我們知道！”

說：‘王這樣吩咐：把這人囚在監裡，少給他食物和水，直到我平平安安回來。’”

人心裡的謀算很多，唯有耶和華的計劃能實現。

任何智慧、聰明、謀略都不能敵擋耶和華。

如果人聽了這咒詛的話，心裡仍然自誇說：‘我雖然照著頑梗的心而行，使好人和惡人一起滅亡，我還有平安。’耶和華必不肯饒恕他；耶和華的怒氣和憤恨必向這人發作，這書上所寫的一切咒詛都要降在那人身上，耶和華也必從天下塗抹他的名。耶和華必照著寫在這律法書上的約的一切咒詛，把他從以色列眾支派中分別出來，使他遭受災禍。

我要以公平為準繩，以公義為線鉈；冰雹必把謊言的遮蔽沖去，大水必漫過庇護所。”你們與死亡所立的約要廢除，你們與陰間所結的盟必立不住；刑罰的鞭子掃過的時候，你們就必被踐踏。每次掃過的時候，都把你們抓去；因為每早晨它必漫過，白天與黑夜也是這樣；人若明白所傳的，必受驚恐。床鋪太短，人就不能伸直，被窩太窄，就蓋不住全身。耶和華必像在毘拉心山一樣興起，又像在基遍谷一樣發怒，為要作成他的工，他那奇妙的工，好成就他的事，就是奇異的事。現在，你們不可再譏笑了，免得捆綁你們的繩索綁得更緊，因為我從主萬軍之耶和華那裡聽到，決定要在全地上施行毀滅的事。

至於你，你憎恨管教，並且把我的話丟在背後。

如果有人從這書上的預言刪減甚麼，神必從這書上所記的生命樹和聖城刪去他的分。

說：“我為甚麼恨惡管教，我的心為甚麼輕視責備，

論到猶大王約雅敬你要說：‘耶和華這樣說：你燒了那書卷，說：你為甚麼在上面寫著說：巴比倫王一定來，毀滅這地，使地上的人畜都滅絕呢？因此，耶和華論到猶大王約雅敬這樣說：他的後代必沒有人坐在大衛的王位上；他的屍體必拋棄在外，日間受炎熱，夜間受寒霜。我必懲罰他和他的後裔，以及他臣僕的罪孽；我必使我對他們預告過的一切災禍，臨到他們和耶路撒冷的居民，以及猶大人的身上；他們卻不聽從。’”

人屢次受責備，仍然硬著頸項，他必突然毀滅，無法挽救。
