“ Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.

“ Get a scroll. Write on it all the words I have spoken to you. Write down what I have said about Israel, Judah and all the other nations. Write what I have said to you from the time of King Josiah until now.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and Judah and all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today.

“ Get a scroll, and write down all my messages against Israel, Judah, and the other nations. Begin with the first message back in the days of Josiah, and write down every message, right up to the present time.

“ Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

“ Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

“ Get a scroll. Write on it everything I have told you to say about Israel, Judah, and all the other nations since I began to speak to you in the reign of Josiah until now.

“ Take a scroll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

“ Thus speaks the Lord God of Israel, saying:‘ Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.

See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”

“ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, this is the twenty-third year in which the word of the Lord has come to me; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not listened.

“ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

And at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a scroll was found, and in it a record was written thus:

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord,‘ and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations.Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.And this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.‘ Then it will come to pass, when seventy years are completed, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity,’ says the Lord;‘ and I will make it a perpetual desolation.So I will bring on that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations.( For many nations and great kings shall be served by them also; and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their own hands.)’”For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me:“ Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.And they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”Then I took the cup from the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me:Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people;all the mixed multitude, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines( namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon;all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the sea;Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in the farthest corners;all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the mixed multitude who dwell in the desert;all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. Also the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.“ Therefore you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Drink, be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ You shall certainly drink!For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe’s knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

Then I said,“ Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me.

You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the LORD’s house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.

Moreover the Lord said to me,“ Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.

“ And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: They prophesied by Baal And caused My people Israel to err.Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.

Therefore the showers have been withheld, And there has been no latter rain. You have had a harlot’s forehead; You refuse to be ashamed.Will you not from this time cry to Me,‘ My father, You are the guide of my youth?Will He remain angry forever? Will He keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and done evil things, As you were able.”The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king:“ Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.And I said, after she had done all these things,‘ return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also.So it came to pass, through her casual harlotry, that she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but in pretense,” says the Lord.

So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that would come upon Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon.

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;

So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished,

Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob and all the families of the house of Israel.

Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from His sight; there was none left but the tribe of Judah alone.Also Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.And the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel, afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them from His sight.

I have written for him the great things of My law, But they were considered a strange thing.

Oh, that I had one to hear me! Here is my mark. Oh, that the Almighty would answer me, That my Prosecutor had written a book!

Moreover He said to me,“ Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.”So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.And He said to me,“ Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.

Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll.And he said to me,“ What do you see?” So I answered,“ I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.”Then he said to me,“ This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth:‘ Every thief shall be expelled,’ according to this side of the scroll; and,‘ Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.”“ I will send out the curse,” says the Lord of hosts;“ It shall enter the house of the thief And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It shall remain in the midst of his house And consume it, with its timber and stones.”

Then the Lord answered me and said:“ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice,“ Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?”And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.But one of the elders said to me,“ Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.And they sang a new song, saying:“ You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,‘ Why have you written in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and cause man and beast to cease from here?’”

because the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only evil before Me from their youth. For the children of Israel have provoked Me only to anger with the work of their hands,’ says the Lord.‘ For this city has been to Me a provocation of My anger and My fury from the day that they built it, even to this day; so I will remove it from before My facebecause of all the evil of the children of Israel and the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me to anger— they, their kings, their princes, their priests, their prophets, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.And they have turned to Me the back, and not the face; though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction.But they set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.And they built the high places of Baal which are in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into My mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.’

The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the instruction of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,

The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before Pharaoh attacked Gaza.Thus says the Lord:“ Behold, waters rise out of the north, And shall be an overflowing flood; They shall overflow the land and all that is in it, The city and those who dwell within; Then the men shall cry, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.At the noise of the stamping hooves of his strong horses, At the rushing of his chariots, At the rumbling of his wheels, The fathers will not look back for their children, Lacking courage,Because of the day that comes to plunder all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; For the Lord shall plunder the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.Baldness has come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is cut off With the remnant of their valley. How long will you cut yourself?“ O you sword of the Lord, How long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, Rest and be still!How can it be quiet, Seeing the Lord has given it a charge Against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There He has appointed it.”
