the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, grandson of Shelemiah and great grandson of Cushi, to ask Baruch to come and read the messages to them, too. So Baruch took the scroll and went to them.

于是所有的领袖差派古示的曾孙、示利米雅的孙子、尼探雅的儿子犹底，去见巴录，说：“请你把向众人宣读的那书卷亲自拿来。”尼利亚的儿子巴录就把书卷亲自带到他们那里。

眾首領就打發古示的曾孫、示利米雅的孫子、尼探雅的兒子猶底到巴錄那裏，對他說：「你將所念給百姓聽的書卷拿在手中到我們這裏來。」尼利亞的兒子巴錄就手拿書卷來到他們那裏。

官長們就派猶底，就是古示的曾孫、示利米雅的孫子、尼探雅的兒子到巴錄那裏，對他說：「你把你所念給百姓聽的書卷拿在手裏，到我們這裏來。」尼利亞的兒子巴錄就手拿書卷到他們那裏去。

告諸牧伯遣古示曾孫、示利米孫、尼大尼子猶底、詣巴錄所告之、曰、以爾所誦之卷、攜之以至。尼利亞子巴錄執卷而至。

諸侯伯遣古示曾孫示利米亞孫尼探亞子猶底、詣巴錄所、告之曰、爾所讀使民聽之卷、爾可攜之至、尼利亞子巴錄遂手執卷而至其前、

all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to say to Baruch,“ Bring the scroll from which you have read to the people and come.” So Baruch son of Neriah went to them with the scroll in his hand.

All the officials sent Jehudi to speak to Baruch, the son of Neriah. Jehudi was the son of Nethaniah. Nethaniah was the son of Shelemiah. Shelemiah was the son of Cushi. Jehudi said to Baruch,“ Come. Bring the scroll you have read to the people.” So Baruch went to them. He carried the scroll with him.

Then all the officials sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, to say to Baruch,“ Take in your hand the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and came to them.

Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, saying,“ Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.

Then all the officials sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, who was the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying,“ Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read to the people and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and came to them.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying,“ Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read in the hearing of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and came to them.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thy hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, saying,“ Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

All the officials sent Jehudi, who was the son of Nethaniah and the grandson of Cushi, to Baruch. They ordered him to tell Baruch,“ Come here and bring with you the scroll you read in the hearing of the people.” So Baruch son of Neriah went to them, carrying the scroll in his hand.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying,“ Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

“ Get a scroll, and write down all my messages against Israel, Judah, and the other nations. Begin with the first message back in the days of Josiah, and write down every message, right up to the present time.

So they went to see Gedaliah at Mizpah. These included: Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth, the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, Jezaniah son of the Maacathite, and all their men.

The Lord gave this message to Zephaniah when Josiah son of Amon was king of Judah. Zephaniah was the son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah.

“ Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels.You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!

But in midautumn of that year, Ishmael son of Nethaniah and grandson of Elishama, who was a member of the royal family and had been one of the king’s high officials, went to Mizpah with ten men to meet Gedaliah. While they were eating together,Ishmael and his ten men suddenly jumped up, drew their swords, and killed Gedaliah, whom the king of Babylon had appointed governor.

When all the army commanders and their men learned that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they went to see him at Mizpah. These included Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, Jezaniah son of the Maacathite, and all their men.

They were afraid of what the Babylonians would do when they heard that Ishmael had killed Gedaliah, the governor appointed by the Babylonian king.

“ Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

“ Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.

The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll. Jehudi brought it from Elishama’s room and read it to the king as all his officials stood by.

Then Johanan son of Kareah and the other military leaders took all the people they had rescued in Gibeon— the soldiers, women, children, and court officials whom Ishmael had captured after he killed Gedaliah.
