We have obeyed Jonadab, son of our ancestor Rechab, in all he commanded us. So we haven’t drunk wine our whole life— we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters.

我祖利甲子約拿達所囑者、我悉遵之、我與妻室子女、畢生不飲酒、

我祖哩甲子約拿撻所命、我與妻室子女、終身謹守、不敢嗜酒、

我祖利甲子約拿達凡所命我者、我悉聽從、我儕與妻室子女、終身不飲酒、

We have obeyed everything our forefather Jehonadab son of Rekab commanded us. Neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters have ever drunk wine

We have done everything Jehonadab, the son of Rekab, commanded us to do. So we and our wives and our children have never drunk wine.

We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, ourselves, our wives, our sons, or our daughters,

So we have obeyed him in all these things. We have never had a drink of wine to this day, nor have our wives, our sons, or our daughters.

And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, not to drink wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters,

Thus we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters,

And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters;

Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;

We and our wives and our sons and daughters have obeyed everything our ancestor Jonadab commanded us. We have never drunk wine.

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and don’t reject your mother’s teaching,for they will be a garland of favor on your head and pendants around your neck.

My son, keep your father’s command, and don’t reject your mother’s teaching.

Listen, sons, to a father’s discipline, and pay attention so that you may gain understanding,for I am giving you good instruction. Don’t abandon my teaching.

Listen, my son. Accept my words, and you will live many years.

A wise son responds to his father’s discipline, but a mocker doesn’t listen to rebuke.
