Also you must never build houses, sow seed or plant vineyards; you must never have any of these things, but must always live in tents. Then you will live a long time in the land where you are nomads.’

当孝敬父母，使你得福，在世长寿。这是第一条带应许的诫命。

两个孩子渐渐长大，以扫善于打猎，常在田野；雅各为人安静，常住在帐棚里。

“当孝敬父母，使你的日子在耶和华—你神所赐你的地上得以长久。

不要醉酒，酒能使人放荡；要被圣灵充满。

因着信，他就在所应许之地作客，好像在异乡，居住在帐棚里，与蒙同一个应许的以撒和雅各一样。因为他等候着那座有根基的城，就是神所设计和建造的。因着信，撒拉自己已过了生育的年龄还能怀孕，因为她认为应许她的那位是可信的；所以，从一个仿佛已死的人竟生出子孙，如同天上的星那样众多，海边的沙那样无数。这些人都是存着信心死的，并没有得着所应许的，却从远处观望，且欢喜迎接。他们承认自己在地上是客旅，是寄居的。

亲爱的，你们是客旅，是寄居的，我劝你们要禁戒肉体的情欲；这情欲是与灵魂争战的。

你们要住在棚里七日；凡以色列家出生的人都要住在棚里，好叫你们世世代代知道，我领以色列人出埃及地的时候，曾使他们住在棚里。我是耶和华—你们的神。”

但住在帐棚里，听从并遵行我们祖先约拿达所吩咐我们的一切话。

他们发现律法书上写着，耶和华藉摩西吩咐以色列人要在七月的节期中住在棚里，并要在各城和耶路撒冷传扬宣告说：“你们当出去，上山，把橄榄树、野橄榄树、番石榴树、棕树和各样茂密树的枝子取来，照着所写的搭棚。”于是百姓出去，取了树枝来，各人在自己的房顶上、院子里、神殿的院内、水门的广场和以法莲门的广场搭棚。
