And[ when] thou[ art] spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair;[ thy] lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them,[ even] my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray[ them] away.

Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.

And I will leave thee[ thrown] into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.

So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying,[ As] the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.
