Recently you repented and did what is right in my sight: Each of you proclaimed freedom to your own people. You even made a covenant before me in the house that bears my Name.

Recently you turned away from your sins. You did what is right in my eyes. Each of you set your Hebrew slaves free. You even made a covenant in front of me. You did it in the house where I have put my Name.

You recently repented and did what was right in my eyes by proclaiming liberty, each to his neighbor, and you made a covenant before me in the house that is called by my name,

Recently you repented and did what was right, following my command. You freed your slaves and made a solemn covenant with me in the Temple that bears my name.

西底家王和在耶路撒冷的众民立了约，要向奴仆宣告自由。人人都要释放自己的希伯来奴婢；谁也不可使自己的一位犹大兄弟作奴仆。（这事以后，从耶和华那里有话临到耶利米。）

王站在柱旁，在耶和华面前立约，要一心一意跟从耶和华，谨守他的诫命、典章和律例，实行这书上所写有关这约的话。众民都一同立约。

然后来到这称为我名下的殿，站在我面前，说：‘我们安全啦！’你们这样就可以行这一切可憎的事吗？这称为我名下的殿，难道在你们眼中看为贼窝吗？但我都看见了。”这是耶和华的宣告。

都坚持和他们的贵族兄弟参与发咒起誓，必遵行神藉他仆人摩西颁布的律法，必谨守遵行耶和华我们的主的一切诫命、典章和律例；

所有立了约的领袖和众民都同意释放各人自己的奴婢，谁也不再使他们作奴仆。他们都同意了，并且把奴婢释放了。但后来他们反悔，把他们释放了的奴婢叫回来，强迫他们再作奴婢。

你们许愿，总要向耶和华你们的神偿还；所有在他周围的人，都要把贡物带来献给那可敬畏的神。

他们天天寻求我，乐意明白我的道路，好像行义的国民，不离弃他们神的公理；他们向我求问公义的判语，又喜欢亲近神。

在耶何耶大祭司教导他的日子，他就行耶和华看为正的事。

‘这人民用嘴唇尊敬我，心却远离我；

亚哈听见这些话，就撕裂自己的衣服，披上麻布，禁食，睡在麻布上，并且神色颓丧地行走。耶和华的话临到提斯比人以利亚说：“你看见了亚哈在我面前怎样谦卑自己，因为他在我面前谦卑自己，所以他还在世的日子，我必不降这灾祸；到他儿子的日子，我必降这灾祸与他的家。”

我曾起誓，并且坚守誓言，我必遵守你公义的典章。

他行耶和华看为正的事；只是不像他的祖先大卫，却是照着他父亲约阿施所行的一切去行。

耶和华对耶户说：“因为你办好了我看为正的事，照我的一切心意对付亚哈家，你的子孙要坐在以色列的王位上，直到第四代。”可是耶户没有尽心遵行耶和华以色列神的律法，离弃耶罗波安使以色列人陷于罪中的那些罪。

竟把他们可憎的偶像安放在称为我名下的殿中，污秽了这殿。
